A little while back, my cousin @myleswilliam asked me to salt and pepper some vocals on an album he was producing for a Chinese artist, Yetai Wang.

Those tracks ended up on “Love Me Later”…and songs featuring my voice went #1 in China.

Last night, I watched a massive crowd celebrate the album, swaying alongside them as I took part in the largest “sing-along-to-my-own-voice” that I’ve ever been apart of. It was super dope.

Excited to keep writing and singing and connecting with the ppl and communities that make this feeling possible.

Nine days ago I said goodbye to my dear friend of 18 years, Lenny. As much as I ever tried to, there was no way I could’ve prepared for this feeling. Lenny lived a long, exciting, and healthy life (for the most part). Those of you who know me well, know that I’ve been tending to her ailing health for over four years now — and I’d happily do it forever if only I could…

Alas, I realize it’s only through these mandatory heartbreaks that we are given the opportunity to truly deepen and expand our spiritual understanding.
(A bit of a Greek tragedy, yes— but I don’t make the rules).

As I understand it, in Hawaii, the word ”kahu” means guardian; a tender protector of another being. That was what I was to her, and she to me.

Thank you, Lenny. I feel so grateful to have known our love. Miss you so much my sweet girl.

I was hacked three weeks ago. In more ways than one. My dad always told me not to take life too seriously, no one gets out alive. His optimism and love for people and music lives on in me and my brother. But every now and then I have to ask the ole man in the moon, "How do i mend this broken heart?"
