You can leave the “Thankful” signs and turkey figurines in storage. We know you’re thankful. ☺️

Fall decorating doesn’t have to mean filling every corner with seasonal and overly-themed decor. To me, it’s more about warmth, texture, and layers. Cozy throws, richer tones, natural materials, and a few pieces that make your home feel a little more inviting this time of year.

Pumpkins are the exception though. Lots and lots of pumpkins 🧡🍂

The Art of Shelf Styling 🤎

Shelf styling is less about what you add, and more about knowing when to stop.

When styling shelves, I’m always looking for balance without symmetry. Varying heights, layered artwork, a mix of books and sculptural pieces, repeated tones and textures, and, most importantly, breathing room.

A few rules I tend to follow:

• Vary height and scale to create movement
• Layer pieces instead of lining everything up
• Mix books, artwork and sculptural objects
• Repeat colors and materials without making every shelf match
• Leave negative space. Every inch doesn’t need to be filled
• Step back often and look at the shelving as a whole

The goal is for it to feel collected, intentional and effortless, not overly styled. by @lexi_athome

A little business update that feels pretty special to share 🤍

My 2026 calendar is officially full, and I’m already booking into 2027.

More than anything, I just want to say thank you. Inviting someone into your home and trusting them to reimagine the spaces where your family actually lives is incredibly personal. I never take that trust lightly.

To every client who has welcomed me into their home, trusted my vision, referred my name to a friend, or supported Lexi at Home Designs in any way — thank you. Getting to do what I love and watching this little business continue to grow means more to me than I can say.

If a room refresh or renovation is on your list for 2027, now is a great time to reach out and start planning. I can’t wait to see what we create next. 🤍

✅ Cozy reading nook accomplished.

Style Tip: Skip the matching ottoman that comes with your chair. Instead, choose one with a different shape, texture, or pattern to add character. Keep the wood tones similar, but don’t be afraid to mix things up.

You see an empty corner, I see beautiful potential ➡️

✅ The right furniture makes a difference!

Rule #1: Whatever sits under your TV should be 4-6 inches wider on each side than the TV itself, with 4-8 inches of space between the console and the bottom of the TV. I see this design mistake all the time! Did you pass?!

✅ Add a cozy lamp for both ambiance and function.

Style Tip: Layer your lighting. A mix of lamps, overhead lighting, and sconces or picture lights creates a warm, inviting space that feels thoughtfully designed. by @lexi_athome

PART 1 of this bedroom transformation || Proof that you don’t always need to repaint. ✨ I kept the existing wall color at my clients request, and built the entire design around it.

Her 3 non-negotiables were:
🩷 pink
💙 blue
🩶 gray

This bedroom transformation will grow alongside her now - from little girl room to teenage dream room.

🐚 Out of office. 🦀

Taking some intentional time to unplug, soak up summer with my family, and recharge before a busy season ahead.

I’ll be back July 25, and already have some exciting projects kicking off in August that I can’t wait to share with you !! 🤫

Thank you for being here and for supporting Lexi at Home Designs.. 🌊☀️ by @lexi_athome

I can fix that 💁🏼‍♀️ by @lexi_athome

Nobody talks about this part of interior design.

It’s not just picking furniture.

It’s styling.
Editing.
Moving things around.
Stepping back.
Moving them again.

The magic is usually in the final 5%.

Designer tip: When styling a sofa, mix textures before you mix colors. Different fabrics and materials create depth and interest, even in a neutral palette.

And while we’re at it… please stop buying the exact same pillow four times. I promise you, your loveseat pillows can be different than your sofa !! 🤍

Mixing patterns, textures, and scales creates a more collected, layered look that feels intentional rather than showroom-perfect.

Ok but I do love picking pillows. 🫠

Designing spaces that feel beautiful, functional, and uniquely you, one room at a time.
