the answers? no

I think the temptation of the enemy is to divide what the Lord has brought together and the temptation of humanity is to depreciate the prayers that the Lord has answered.

what that looks like? well, we see it in marriage where as soon as something inconveniences us or we get a glimpse of the persons flawed humanity we’re just ready to find ways of escape and start to consider that we may have not heard the Lord correctly in the first place.

but I have a different perspective, maybe it’s not that we didn’t hear the Lord, maybe it’s that the Lord uses another broken person to highlight the brokenness that’s inside of us that He wants to confront and if we truly lived a surrendered life and laid our hearts on the altar than we wouldn’t be so quick to point out what’s wrong with our spouses but instead we would be quick to run into our secret place and cry out to the Lord for the Lord to remove our own wickedness that lies within us.

dates don’t always have to be fancy & expensive!! but they should always be thought out and intentional.

at the end of the day, what matters is that we’re taking time out to intentionally pour into one another and fill each others cup. if we’re not careful, we can easily allow the enemy to get us to start caring about everything else and neglect our spouses. and that’s on both parts. it can be tempting for men to get caught up in ministry and work & on our side it can be tempting to get caught up in tending to the home and taking care of the kids that we’ve exhausted all our energy and have none left for our husband.

but always remember, if you’re married, or planning to be, Jesus comes first and your spouse is second.
so however it looks for you in your home make sure you guys are dedicating specific time to love on each other! 🤍

being a mommy is actually going really well, and honestly….

I wasn’t sure it would! many people around the world grow up with their biological mother, I didn’t. I think there’s a bond that a mother and daughter share that can never be replaced, though I grew up with family I always remember longing for a relationship with the woman who birthed me, but that wasn’t my story.

when I found out I was having a girl I seen it as an opportunity to change a generation. my daughter will never have to wonder if I love her, if she’s wanted, if she matters to anyone, what our relationship would be like if I was the one to raise her, she’ll never have to wonder will I stand up for her, will she be safe, she’ll never have to go out into the world to find her identity because her identity will be found right here in our home, in Christ!

so for me? motherhood hits different, it’s curse breaking, this is generational!

transparency post…

while my husband and I haven’t been able to do this often because of the season we’ve been in with all of our income going straight to bills, i’m grateful for the moments where my husband is able to treat me!

God has shown up time and time again, through prayer & community and we’ve truly never lacked or needed for anything even though we haven’t always had it financially.

If you or anyone you know is going through a similar season, I implore you to put your trust in the Lord! He has provided for my family through this season of difficulty and I know He can do the same for you!

If your faith is not in Jesus Christ I also implore you to seek Him out for yourself with all of your heart, so that you may know Him and have a relationship with Him.

as a breastfeeding mom there will be days where it seems like somehow they just can’t get enough, and you’ll be tempted to rush through it because there’s a list of things to get done….

however, those things? those things will always be there. your baby? one day your baby will grow and go on to live the life God planned for them. so slow down, live in the moment & take every opportunity to live a life you won’t regret when they’re gone. because those things? those things can wait!

“If you fail to do what you know is right, you are sinning.”
‭‭James‬ ‭4‬:‭17‬ ‭

This passage teaches that sin is not only about doing wrong things. it’s also about failing to do what is right when you know better.

James is speaking about responsibility before God. When a person has knowledge of what is right whether through Scripture, conscience, or conviction and chooses not to act on it, that inaction becomes sin.

Two Sides Of Sin
1. Sins of commission: Doing what is wrong.
2. Sins of omission: Not doing what is right.
(The verse focuses on the second)

Need context?? I got you!!

Just before this, James talks about people making plans without considering God’s will (James 4:13–16). He reminds them that life is short and dependent on God. Then he concludes with this principle: if you know God’s will and ignore it, that is sin.

“KNOWING GOD’S WILL AND CHOOSING NOT TO ACT ON IT IS ITSELF A FORM OF DISOBEDIENCE”

This passage calls us for a responsive faith, be encouraged.
