A really special trip to Utrecht with my mum and sister. Amazing food, beautiful people and a new favourite bar - Cafe Willem Slok complete with pub cat Felix.
We got to experience a local fabric market which was unbelievable, walk around the beautiful city and botanical gardens, eat delicious food and to top it off, I got to meet Floor and queen Snoopy in real life 🤍 by @lexidrums

So, a pretty big and exciting chapter starting in my life... I’ve hidden away for the past 3 months studying a level 2 course in environmental sustainability. I’m one week away from finishing and it’s been a bit of a trip learning as an adult. It’s only a GCSE equivalent but I thought I’d test the waters before I jump in.. obviously I’ve bloody dived in and am floating way down the river (punny)… but seriously, after being so fired up by the course, I reached out to a local environmental scientist, who is doing some incredible work with @surfersagainstsewage here in Worthing. After meeting up and being so completely inspired by his work, I am now a member of SAS and will be teaming up with him to help protect our waters. I’ve also signed up to become a river guardian in Sussex and will be doing some training and citizen science with @westernsussexrivers in a few weeks! Extremely nervous but gonna give it a go 🌊

And, after a well-needed break, I’m gonna jam and write some music with my buddies soon 🥁

I know it’s early to do one of those yearly round ups but it’s been a rough one and so here are some of the bestest most loveliest bits that happened in between all the turds.

🤍 Went to the Tim Burton exhibition with my niece, nephew, bro and sister in law.
🖤 Lost my Zims 💔 but the love and support I received from those around me will never be forgotten and we raised money for the sanctuary (thank you lovely souls).
🤍 Got a little memorial tat by my broseph.
🖤 Released an EP with my homies - celebrating 10 years of our debut album.
🤍 My nephew Tate was born.
🖤 Deftones with cherished ones.
🤍 Worthing Pride with my partner in crime (aka CEO of our bad decisions) and loved ones.
🖤 The Zangie wedding!!
🤍 Cornwall with my emotional support humans.
🖤 Launched a company with ma soul sistah and made cool things.
🤍 Made more cool things and fundraised for the sanctuary.

2 weeks of Sven. I feel like I’ve been a Zombie for a while and I’m only just waking up. The healing I’ve done in the past 2 weeks has been remarkable. This boy is a special one. It actually pains me to think I initially turned him down because he reminded me too much of Zimmy. Thank the dog gods for @floormaters_ because she knew he was for me.

No one will ever replace my Zims but his later days were cruel to him and I am glad he’s at peace.

After years and years on the road, I’m putting the touring drumsticks down.

It’s not a decision I set out to make this year, but with the end of BERRIES and after losing Zimmy, it makes sense.

I’ll still be making music with my homies, and I’m sure I’ll hop on stage here and there - that’s just who I am, probably with 10,000 projects on the go at once. But I’m no longer chasing this type of “success” like I used to. I realise I’ve already had huge amounts of success with each musical project, each bucket list venue, each festival and each release put out in the world.

Having a career in music means I’m still firmly rooted in the industry. I’ve been working in music publishing for the past 5 years, and I imagine I’ll be sticking around in that world for many more to come.

I guess I just wanted to say it out loud. Time for a change. Onto the next chapter 📖

Zimmy crossed the rainbow bridge this week. My heart is in a million pieces.

I need to turn his passing into a positive, so I have set up a little fundraiser for @helenshouseofhope - where we rescued him from. HHH are a dedicated sanctuary based in Bulgaria who rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abused and abandoned dogs. In his death he will help save more lives. A donation here would mean more to me than any cards or flowers. 100% proceeds will go to HHH.

HAPPY SINGLE RELEASE DAY TO US!! 10 years later and we’re still the best of mates and message almost daily in our group chat. No matter where we are and what we’re doing in the world we champion each other. Coming together to write and record this EP has been nothing short of magical and we’re so excited to share our first single from it - DECADE.

The EP will be released on 13th June on CD and digital download, you can pre-order it now!! The link is in our bio.
