Lychee update!

After her siblings Plum and Cricket were adopted, our girl was suddenly solo, for the first time in her life.

But who are we to not give her everything she needs…including a new brother!?

Enter Sir Kneads A Lot!

Rescued by @lexiscatroom a few weeks ago as an underweight baby with terrible poops, Kneads had slowly gotten better and was finally fully vetted and cleared to have a friend.

We think he’s never been with another kitten since he was a tiny baby (probably one of the many kittens who are taken from their moms and litters too soon), Kneads didn’t know what to make of this strange other kitten who looked similarly fancy to him. Initially, it was all skepticism and hisses.

But he’s been learning quickly, and these two have become an absolute joy to have around.

Lychee is teaching him how to play, wrestle, and eat kitten food (he was insanely picky before living with her). And Kneads is giving her the company she craves.

Meet Ryan Meowsling✨
Ryan was found when we went out to trap a small colony, but it quickly became clear that this sweet boy was not meant to live outdoors.

The moment we met him, Ryan was incredibly friendly. He immediately rolled over, showed us his belly, and made it very clear that he wanted love and attention. There was simply no way we could release him back outside.

Now, Ryan is thriving in foster! He gets along wonderfully with his foster brother and is proving to be the fun, playful young cat that he is. He has plenty of energy, loves to play, and is always ready for some attention and affection.

Ryan is fully vetted, FeLV/FIV negative, and free of parasites and worms. He’s adoptable via @brooklynanimalaction . Most importantly, he’s safe, happy, and getting the chance to be the indoor cat he was meant to be.

[Watch till the end!] A few weeks ago, you all rallied to support Ashford, our gruff, toothless boy who had survived so much — years of hunger on the street, eye infections, severe dental disease, FIV, and now also respiratory issues.

And we have news…

After a 2-weeks course of antibiotics, Ashford’s cough subsided. An echocardiogram told us his heart murmur was benign. And an eye exam revealed that he’s been blind in one eye since before his rescue.

And then we got even bigger news!

His foster could not let him go. That’s right — Ashford is home! We were overjoyed when @k.h__ asked us if she could adopt him since she could no longer imagine her life without her orange shadow. The answer was a resounding “yes.”

Meet new BFFs Chit Chat and Dill! 💬 🌿

A week ago these two cuties hadn’t even met yet, and now they’re wrestling, playing, and snuggling it up. And both are up for adoption at @brooklynanimalaction.

Chit Chat and Dill are boys, 9 weeks old, and healthy. They can be adopted together or separately.

*Note: If you apply to adopt just one of them, you must already have another kitten or young cat, as growing kittens should always have a playmate so they don’t develop behavioral issues we often see in single kittens.

Chit Chat (tabby) was found alone in a box outside a grocery store. Dill (black) was rescued behind a building in Crown Heights after neighbors had taken the other kittens inside.

Our guy Nilla Wafer is still waiting for his forever home!🧡

His fosters say he’s a “grade A cat…get ready to fall in love.”

Nilla gets comfortable fast, lounges on the couch and in your lap, and you can even carry him around the house. He is chatty and sweet, and will do best in a home where he’s the only cat or with a laid-back, confident cat sibling.

He’s 1 year old, neutered, vaccinated, free of fleas and parasites, and negative for FIV and FeLV.

Meet Catt🐱
Catt had spent her entire life outdoors. She had a feeder who looked out for her, but her skin wounds just wouldn’t heal.

@oceanhillcats trapped Catt and brought her inside so they could figure out what was happening with her skin. After seeing a vet, it was discovered that Catt suffers from flea allergies.

We knew simply treating her and putting her back outside wasn’t enough. If she returned to outdoor life, she would likely end up right back where she started. So we decided to give Catt something she had never really had before: the chance to learn how to trust people and live safely indoors.

Ocean Hill Cats reached out to a friend (me✨) and experienced socializer to help Catt come out of her shell. And slowly, she’s learning that humans can be kind, safe, and a source of love.

Today, Catt loves chin rubs, gives the cutest elevator butts, and is a total sucker for a teaser toy. Watching this once-fearful feral girl become more confident and social has been so incredibly rewarding. Socializing this shy girl has been so worth it!

🇵🇷 🐱 Can someone please explain how Esmeralda hasn’t received a single adoption application? She’s young, sweet, fluffy, and cute! And yet, this Puerto Rican beauty is still looking for her forever home…and we’re halfway through National Hispanic Heritage Month!

Esme is looking for an adopter who wants to be her close companion. She’s also dying to be friends with her foster cat sister, so she would ideally be adopted into a home with another kitten or young, playful cat. Despite loving on other cats, Esme is quite respectful and gives her foster sister space — likely a skill she picked up on the street.

Her foster says, “She’s the sweetest thing and greets me at the door to welcome me home. She purrs like an absolute motorboat when she gets pets, and she loves to watch my meetings on zoom like my little assistant.”

Esme spent the first 5 months of her life on the streets of Puerto Rico, where she was lovingly taken care of by neighbors but still lacking the vet care she needed.

Esme was born in February 2026. She is spayed, vaccinated, free of fleas and parasites, and negative for FIV and FeLV. Our vet assessed her eye and found no issues — it’s likely just clouded from an infection she had as a baby, with no long-term damage.

Meet Alonzo, a perfect young man, who’s lovingly been dubbed “Mr Steal Your Girl” by his foster.

A perfect day for Alonzo starts off with a hearty breakfast followed by a laser play session, and an eventual nap on a cozy rug in sight of you. If you are home during the day, he will get up and look at you with winky eyes and ask for a little playtime (he really will have a full conversation with you to ask) and then go back to snoozing in sight. In the evening he loves to snuggle after dinner and will ask you for that by running to your bed or couch.

Alonzo will have a full conversation with you once he settles into your home. And we mean it — as long as you’re talking or meowing back, it will continue. He also likes to “hug”— when he wants some affection, he will clumsily press as much of his body up against you as he can! He also really lives up to the “cow” cat name — he has a very hearty appetite and isn’t picky at all.

We rescued Alonzo in Brownsville after he showed up scared with a local colony.

Alonzo would do best in a calm home — older kids and other cats are OK to play with him a few times a day. He is a bit shy around heads and faces but loves pets from your arms, legs, hands, and feet! He is so silly and sweet!

Alonzo is about 2 years old, neutered, vaccinated, free of fleas and parasites, and negative for FIV and FeLV.

Meet Nacho macho. 💔

This sweet boy has been surviving on the streets for years. When he showed up with an injured eye and swelling of his face, we knew he needed help.

We called his name… and he came right over to greet us. Despite everything he’s been through, Nacho is still the friendly, loving boy he’s always been.

A rescuer is caring for him right now, but Nacho needs to see a vet to find out what’s going on with his eye and face and get the treatment he needs.
