04/10/25 💕🔒 Twelve years. That’s how long I’ve been looking forward to this moment, and yesterday, it finally happened! There’s something I really want to say after last weekend.

Lando can be criticized. He can be questioned. People can disagree with his decisions, his driving, his interviews, and especially with things he says when emotions are running high. That is part of being a Formula 1 driver, and nobody should be above criticism.

But somewhere along the way, criticism and hate have become completely different things.

You can say, “I disagree with Lando.”
You can say, “I think he handled that interview badly.”
You can say, “I don’t agree with what he said.”

That’s criticism. That’s discussion. That’s sport.

What isn’t criticism is personal abuse, harassment, threats, or trying to tear someone apart because you don’t like what they said or how they raced.

Lando is a driver. He’s going to have incredible weekends, frustrating weekends, moments he gets right and moments he gets wrong. He’s going to be emotional sometimes. He’s going to say things people disagree with. None of that makes him immune to accountability but it also doesn’t make him deserving of hate.

One interview shouldn’t suddenly erase everything that came before it. One frustrated moment shouldn’t become someone’s entire identity.

And honestly, this isn’t just about Lando.

Every driver on that grid is a human being behind the helmet. They’re allowed to be frustrated. They’re allowed to make mistakes. They’re allowed to have emotions. We can debate them, criticize them, and hold them accountable without forgetting that there is a real person on the other side of the screen.

As fans, we don’t have to agree with each other.

You don’t have to like Lando.
You don’t have to support him.
You don’t have to agree with what he said.

But you can disagree without being cruel.

Criticism is part of sport. Harassment doesn’t have to be.

I’m posting this as a fan, but also simply as someone who thinks we can do better as a community. 🧡

Let the drivers race. Let the fans debate. Let people have different opinions.
