POSTS STORIES REELS

ABOUT LAST NIGHT...

I wrote a song called "Midnight" about a girl who is afraid of getting close because she consistently gets hurt by partners who mistreated her. She believes in love, but the risk is usually too high. She vowed to herself to sleep in her own bed every night until she knows it's true love.

This song plays on Cinderella and other princess stories throughout the lyrics. Musically, I always envisioned this song as an Evanescence meets P.O.D. meets Linkin Park meets Tantric with a strong rock/R&B female vocal.

This studio session embodied what I want to do: Find the dedicated and talented vocalists and instrumentalists I hear in my head that bring it to life (pun unintended for the Evanescence reference ;))

Thank you to @tfarr7191 who was the first to hear this song and write the chords and progression last year and added some sick solos to this rock song. Thank you to @captainbattleax who is a trusted friend and top tier drummer that got to business and helped make this song even better. Thank you to @lindsaydilesmusic for taking this song head-on with nothing but an introduction from myself and a "Hey I think you are the voice I need for this song I wrote. Let's grab a drink."

And thank you to @ghosttree.studios for providing a comfortable and all inclusive space for us to get a solid 3 hour session in. Roots were planted within 30 minutes and now we have a nearly full-grown tree already.

With luck, this song will be out to stream end of November 😎

I took a chance on myself and moved to LA from Iowa a year ago to pursue a dream. To Tell You the Truth (lex farrell) is my first release, which has been streaming on all platforms since August!

Follow me and my songwriting journey. More music is coming of many genres! My goal is to write and arrange songs for accomplished singers who focus on their vocal talent and don't have time for the rest 😉

@shaylenofficial! You became one of my favorite female artists shortly after discovering you in 2022 by accident on Spotify. "BTW" and "What If I Don't " are both songs that I needed at the time (IYKYK 😂) and I've been following you ever since. Seeing you perform live for the first time in Nashville was a highlight! Thank you for your music and keep it comin' 👢💃 by @lexwritessongs

I'm thinkin' I just might leave you behind ;)

Aspiring songwriter from Iowa who moved to LA tp pursue songrwriting finally made a dream come true with my first produced lyric with @captainbattleax as producer and owner of EndGame Dojo and full blast drums... Sam and I met randomly a week after I moved to LA July 2025 and chose in that moment to do music together... nearly a full year has passed and the day has come where we have collaborated in the public eye. I appreciate our friendship and there is more to come with lyrics from me and Sam on his already-noticed success. Thank you for your support on playing this song.
