You see a beautiful flower.

It’s wilting by the stem. It will most likely be plucked down by evening.

It has received harsh winds, heavy rain, overbearing sunlight and even human spittle.

But it’s still a pretty flower.

Of course, you don’t know all what has happened to it. Or what is currently happening to it. But the sight of it makes you smile.

It’s COMFORTING.

We can be the same too, as believers.

God is able to comfort us in our troubles.
Such that despite and in spite of them, we can bring comfort, healing and hope to our world.

And he’s ready to comfort us.
All we need do is open our heart to Him and the welcoming of His Spirit.

Think about Job. He made some bold statements, asking God why what was happening to him was happening. God, the Almighty entertained his questions and even replied to Him.

Think about Jeremiah. He was the prophet delivering Gods messages to His people yet was puzzled as to why they were going to be in captivity. God answered Him and gave him precise responses.

Now think about Jesus. Very God Himself. Lived as man and felt all that we feel. In that moment as he looked ahead to the pain and the sacrifice he would endure on our behalf, an angel was sent to strengthen him. Through that same pain, he comforted the whole world by bringing us salvation.

We can do the same. We can be the same.

By the help of God who comforts us in all our troubles.
Troubles won’t make us stop caring.
Personal struggles won’t prevent us from helping others overcome theirs.
Challenges of life won’t make us neglect the winners we are supposed to create.

All by the help of God who comforts us in all our troubles.
Amen

A very present help.
A refuge and strength.

Someone that shields. That protects and keeps safe.
Not only does that but provides strength.

Because of Him, we can go out in battle, knowing we are empowered and still kept.

We in Him guaranteed refuge. He in us providing strength.

A very present help in trouble.

Not help from afar. Always just here and now.
Not in the past. Not a once time help.

Not that we even have to call for help.
He's present, very very present.
In the midst of it with us.

So present, nothing gets past him.
So, really, nothing is impossible because for every moment when it seems so, the present help steps in immediately.

And he's not afraid of trouble. That's his speciality. Turning trouble in trumpets fanfare. Breeding over dark, marshy waters and creating out from crisis.

That's why we will mot fear.
Because there's assured guarantees of help.
Not just promised, but help right now.
This very moment.

Of a truth, we are expected to fear.
Because the very earth on which we live is removed.
Of course, we will not fear because we are seated far above in the heavenlies.

Though the mountains roar and be removed into the midst of sea.
We will not fear because, at his presence, the mountains are known to skip and jump.

Ask Sinai.

He will tell you how even goats became terribly scared when the Lord descended.

Ask Carmel.

She will tell you how she received hot fires because she dared to support a contest contesting the Lord of Hosts.

We will not fear because we can even say to the mountain, "be removed and cast into the sea".

So when we see it. Na so e be.

Though the waters roar.

I AM is present.
I AM means I'm here.
I AM is Immanuel.

Amen.

Sometimes, the best prayers are said in your mother tongue. And I happened to discover this audio from @hamtonshots after editing a reel of random clips from home — Ibadan.

Not a new year here, but everyday is a new opportunity and a new chance to start afresh. So, quite fitting for a video about home, where it all began.

Month 1? Let’s go 😎👉

Looking at Lagos Traffic next to the ocean can be therapeutic until it is not. To be honest though, the office space is thoughtfully designed to allow for freedom of thoughts and kinda encourages you to consider the big picture rather than just a little part.🌊🏢

Welcome cakes @iamsaharagroup for each of us. Beautiful welcome gesture, almost overwhelming. Too bad not many of you stay around.

A quirky thing I’ve noticed around are these images around the eating spaces that carry some funny statement that tell you to indulge freely but bear in mind the consequences that may follow. For instance, look at this one. Are you really a vegetarian because you love veggies or because you’re being concerned for the animals?☝️ 😅

Two work events have happened. A cultural diversity event and a Bring your child to work / Sustainability day. I didn’t have any kids nearby so I brought myself. Employee engagement is always a good thing, but channeling it towards responsible causes is even better. Loveet! 🌍🌳

Another quirky one I love. Look at this image that tells you how to use the convenience conveniently. And those air fresheners they keep there? Helps you avoid any embarrassing after situations that are bound to arise in very worse cases. 😅😩

He who has the light of God will not walk in darkness.

Ignore the playful video, I was going to randomly post when these thoughts came.

In a world where decisions are being made by you and on your behalf, we often find ourselves walking unknown paths with unsure destinations. Try as we may, we’re not omniscient or omnipotent. Hence, there is a lot of things that we do not know and even a lot more that we cannot control.

However, the believer has the light of God in Him. By virtue of the Holy Spirit, we can make decisions guided by God and trust Him as he leads us on the journey of life. There’ll be stories that He’ll be writing that we may not see how they’ll end. There may be journeys we could have thought were over that just started.

Through it all, our confidence remains the constant ability of God to bring us to a safe landing. Such that through it, in the end, we can say that our lives have been only helped by God and nothing else.

Young person, have the light of God and you won’t walk in darkeness. Even when you walk through the valley of its shadow, you will be assured you’re not in darkness because it’s to a certain end.
