THE ROUTE 2026

I’m not sure I can fully put into words what an incredible experience I’ve had with @theroute_cl riding the Tour de France Femmes route one day ahead of the pros. We will give it a go…..

So many emotions. So many memories. And a heart and soul that feel very, very full. ❤️

For just over a week, I found myself surrounded by some of the most incredible, strong, supportive and inspiring women. We laughed, we cried, we encouraged each other, we celebrated every little win… and somehow convinced ourselves that getting on a bike every morning was a good idea. 😂

We became our own little bubble. A very sweaty, occasionally emotional, slightly sleep-deprived bubble… but a pretty special one.

Every woman had her own story, her own reasons for being there and her own challenges to overcome. We were all different, but we were united by one team, one incredible experience and one very special cause, @cureleukaemia .

There was something really special about watching everyone cheer each other on. No competition, no judgement. Just women lifting women.

Can we go back now, please? 🥹

Coming home was actually quite strange. Suddenly there was no one telling me where I needed to be, when I needed to be there, what time we were riding, when to eat, when to sleep… 😂

I apparently have absolutely no idea how to organise myself anymore.

Ride. Eat. Sleep. Repeat.

To the other 18 magnificent women I had the absolute pleasure of riding with, thank you. ❤️

You are all so special, strong and resilient. You reminded me that we are capable of so much more than we sometimes believe.

If I’ve learnt anything from this experience, it’s that things don’t always go to plan. Sometimes they go completely sideways. But when you have the right people around you, even the unexpected can become something really special.

The memories I’m taking away from The Route will stay with me for a lifetime.

AWARENESS REEL Immersion Pulmonary Oedema (IPO) is a life threatening condition.

I am very cognisant of how lucky I am. Others are not so fortunate. If this reel can save one life I will be so grateful.

Yesterday I joined so many brilliant people riding the incredible @tour_de4 — my first year taking part, and what a day 💜🚴🏼‍♀️

The rain ☔️ definitely showed up (because apparently riding a long way wasn’t enough of a challenge 🤪), but it did absolutely nothing to dampen the positivity, strength and spirit of everyone riding.

I felt so honoured to be riding for @cureleukaemia. What a wonderful team of people, led by @jamesmc0973, who work incredibly hard while somehow also being some of the most welcoming and friendly people you could meet. So lovely to properly meet @ivanmerrell and more of the CL team 💜

It was one of those humbling, soul-filling days that makes the long drive north completely worth it.

What @chrishoy1 is creating is so much more than an epic day on a bike. He’s building an inspiring community of people who support one another, while bringing more people into this wonderful (and occasionally slightly ridiculous 😜) world of cycling. What a mission.

Genuinely one of my best days on a bike 💜💪🏼

It was awesome to see @jillwillis2, @nicolaridestheroute and @velo_michelle again 😍 @theroute_cl

And a big thank you to Nigel and @rob_tour21 for the great company — many kilometres are made much easier with good people alongside you.

Well done @iandstafford — that climb was an absolute punisher! 😮‍💨💪🏼

And in other important news… the 🫁 held out 🙌🏼 A little tired today, but still working, so I’ll take that as a win 🫣🤪

A very full heart (and slightly tired legs) today. Thank you to everyone who made it such a special one 💜

Such an awesome day back on my MTB, my Specialized Epic.

All the views 🤩

Cannock chase never disappoints, the heather and bracken colours are beautiful. I feel so lucky that I can ride here in 5 mins

It was also my first ride in my @kostume.cc jersey. I loved it! The zip feels so strong, the fabric so soft and not thin it might rip. The quality is fantastic. Cannot wait for the September red to be released 🤩 All the pockets…….do not get me started on those, we will be here all day 🤪😍

Riding a bike is just the best ❤️

The weekend before riding the Tour de France Femmes one day ahead of the pros. I was invited by @paurunandridetrentham to set up outside of their shop and cafe to ride my turbo, and fundraise for Cure Leukaemia, to support children with blood cancer. It was a fabulous day and the shop kept my water bottles filled. Thank you so much to PAU and all those visiting Trentham that donated. We raised £500! 🤩 THANK YOU!

Laura chose to tackle The Route following her mum's blood cancer diagnosis last year. Inspired by her mum's resilience and determined to prove to herself what she could achieve as a deaf cyclist, Laura took on the challenge and showed that her determination knows no limits. 💪
