REST IN PEACE Merline Goulbourne. 🙏🏽💔🇯🇲🦁💐

My Grandmother, My Friend, My Heart. The definition of undying love & sacrifice & the backbone of my family.

Worked hard on her education in Jamaica, migrated to the US & work for years at a bank, providing for herself & our family back home. Brought my father to NYC at 14 years old & the rest is history. Rebuilt her mothers home from a 2 bedroom shack to multi bedroom/bath home with long driveway, garden & gazebo. One of the most beautiful homes in Marlie Hill.

Pillar of the community always giving & often her kindness was taken advantage of by others. Probably the best memory I’ve ever seen. Extremely smart, understanding & empathetic. Her laugh was so distinct & would make you smile all day with her wit & sense of humor.

When my father, her only child, called me at 4am this morning, this feeling of sorrow & fear overtook me before I even answered the phone.

Heartbroken is an understatement. She was the only person in this world that truly understood me. My mind & heart is torn & but i’m content that she has no more pain & needs no more medication. Lived to see her 90th birthday last year in August, a Leo 🦁 like me.

I love you & will miss you forever Grandma & I will never forget our plans for the future. EVERYTHING FOR YOU‼️ Until we meet again 🙏🏽💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
