On June 8th, members of the LHSTC attended the METG Musical Theater Awards. We are thrilled to share that our production of The Wizard of Oz received the Best Props Design Award! A big congratulations to Lilah Vergari for designing our Toto puppet and bringing his adorable nature to the stage.🏆

Congratulations to all of our nominees for their outstanding work and dedication throughout the season. We would also like to recognize our own Nathan Daniels for performing in both the Jimmy Awards Finalists Medley and the Best Performance in a Leading Role Medley.

We are incredibly proud of everyone who helped make this season such a success. Congratulations to all! 🌈 by @lhs.tc

Last but certainly not least is Lilah Vergari! Lilah started her journey as an actor in the LHSTC—performing as Baby Bear in Shrek and an ensemble member in The Pajama Game. Lilah soon realized she’d rather be backstage than onstage—she also realized she LOVED doing props. Her new journey had begun; Lilah made props for Joseph…Dreamcoat, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane, 8 Minutes Left, The Wizard of Oz, The Great Ignored, and Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind. We thank Lilah for her construction of some of the best props our stage has ever seen, she has a knack for props. One of Lilah’s most notable creation(s) are her dog puppets; Within her time she got the chance to create 2 different puppets. The first being Lucy in Edward Tulane, the second being Toto in The Wizard of Oz—which she won a TAMY for! Lilah took the very vague task of “make a dog” and created a masterpiece! We adored watching her Toto creation bounce around the stage! One other thing that set Lilah apart from everyone else was her kindness—no matter what, Lilah was always a ray of sunlight in our theatre company. She would easily boost your mood, and this is something we will miss so dearly. Not only will we miss your kindness Lilah, but we will miss you! This is only the start—you are going to accomplish so many great things! by @lhs.tc

Next up is Evan Zumwalt! Evan was responsible for designing and executing the lights for our shows; however, he did so much more than that! In his time with the LHSTC he made sure our facilities were spotless - the booth, auditorium, and stage were kept very clean. This little task was appreciated more than he will know. On the tech side of things Evan was a star, every show he worked on was approached with so much care! Every single light was always meticulously placed so we could get the perfect outcome each time! Evan is very knowledgeable - we will miss all of his explanations on why he programmed or placed lights the way he did. Evan was also a very kind individual behind the scenes, helping lead our company to success! His dedication to our company is truly admirable! We will miss you so much Evan! by @lhs.tc
