As y’all know, Constructed by Charlie wasn’t always what it is today. I’ve restarted my business twice. From doing family and friends’ hair, to switching over to makeup, and finally finding my way back to hair.

Since I was little, I knew I wanted to be my own boss but I just didn’t know in what. I used to say I’d be a pediatrician so doctors couldn’t boss me around… I really hate being told what to do 😭😭

But I always had a passion for hair. I just never took it seriously because I didn’t believe in myself and always felt like people took advantage of that.

Freshman year of college, I was still doing hair for fun until my BA Nany knocked some sense into me. It took a few months to really sit with that, but eventually I said, “man, fck it, let’s do it”

On January 12, 2024, I rebranded my business. I quit McDonald’s for good and started taking things seriously day by day, month by month. Now we’re at 1 year and 5 months in, and I’m so proud of how far Constructed by Charlie has come.

Thank you to my BA’s: Nany, Juju, and Jen for always pushing me to better my skills, believing in me, and supporting me from the jump.

Also to my best friend Dawn and my loyal client Trav for sticking with me since day one. Y’all always respected the line between business and friendship, and that means the world to me.

To everyone who booked with me from Jan 2024 to now, you might not know it, but every appointment shows me you believe in me. That you love what I do. And I don’t take that lightly. I appreciate it because there’s no business w/o y’all!!!

And most importantly, thank you to God. He really did His big one with me. He knew I was built for this, and He’s guided me through every moment. Taking things one day at a time has taught me a kind of patience I wouldn’t have learned anywhere else.

This is only the beginning for ConstructedxCharlie. I can’t wait to meet new clients, bond with returning ones, and keep growing with the loyal ones.
