I could not find the words to express myself so I waited because I wanted something special so here goes nothing:

Some losses never fully make sense, so sudden and without warning, and our hearts feel heavy and filled with regret. Regret over being so consumed in life that opportunities to visit and share memories fade into the distance. Time, a thief, that catches us again and again. 💔

The silence you leave behind is real, and the ache of missing you is something we carry every day. Although it has only been a day, the void is still heavy in the space you once occupied coupled with the emptiness created approximately 15 years ago by Abuelita when she left this Earth. ❤️‍🩹

But through the sadness, the pain, the guilt, there’s also comfort in knowing you’re together again. It warmed my heart and filled the empty space knowing that when you were brought back the briefly, you shared Abuelita was waiting for you. I can hear it,

“Ya llegaste Juan Gil, te espere”

“Si Licha, estaba sobreviviendo cada día pensando en el momento cuando podemos estar juntos otra vez”

Although I still feel immense sadness for me, I am so happy for you being reunified with the love of your life. 🥹

You are reunited, at peace, and no longer separated by time, pain, or distance. That thought brings our family a little light during one of the hardest moments. The pain of your absences will never go away but what you leave with us helps soften the ache.

Thank you for the love, the memories, the laughter, the dance moves 😂, and the foundation you gave all of us. Thank you for making my childhood special. Your love story continues on through every person whose life you touched. You both were and still are so loved. The legacy you left behind suffering firsthand through backbreaking hard work so your family can thrive is something I only hope to achieve in my time here in Earth.

Rest easy now Abuelito Juan.
Until we meet again. I look forward to seeing you and Abuelita in the afterlife. For now, this is goodbye. 🕊️ by @liaih92
