Hello!!! 👋 Since hitting 1000 followers (thank you everyone!) we wanted to reintroduce ourselves for those who may not know our story.

We’ve been together now for almost 12 years and got engaged in May 2022. The plan was to save for the wedding, and then a home, and then a family. But something didn’t seem right for us.

After A LOT of talking, we took the leap and set our sights on travelling with the money we’d initially saved for “the big day”. 💒

We wanted to share our story for anyone and everyone who’s interested. We love the idea that this page will be the home of our memories, something to look back on and show our future children 🤭🫣.

Thank you everyone who has followed, liked, commented, shared, whatever it may be. It gives us such joy to see the loving responses to our posts. We hope to continue making content about our travels as we continue our dream! ✨

‘EVERYONE is moving to Australia’… 🇦🇺 i feel like there’s a point in your mid 20s where people just start moving half way round the world… but why? Well after a few months of being here, I have some thoughts…

1. The coffee is way nicer lol
2. Nature here is mind boggling - hand on heart one of the most beautiful countries I have ever seen. And I’m from Colombia so that’s saying something
3. The sky is prettier
4. Despite the heavy sexism that I’ve experienced, I’ve felt very safe. There’s been times I’ve walked around Sydney city centre alone at night and not felt scared or worried like I have in London
5. Small talk is way better here and you feel like people actually care
6. It’s basically a 9 month summer (Sydney lovers: expect rain in July and August, if you expect it and then you’ll be ok)
7. Working weeks are enjoyable! and it doesn’t feel like you’re dragging yourself to the weekend
8. The lifestyle is so much more balanced - being active is just a given here. People tend to drink a lot less and you just wake up wanting to go for a walk. I personally have felt the strongest mentally here than I have in a long time (side note: there is a hint of over the top fitness here, which I can see why some people would find it toxic. For me it’s been a good encouragement of what I was trying to do more of in my life but it is a lot sometimes lol - beer and pizza is good ok x
9. The cost of living is much cheaper… but only if you have a job (lol) - travelling around Australia with no job is so expensive but once you land a job, the wages are juicy and sweet
10. The fruit and vegetables just taste nicer and I’m willing to fight anyone on this 🤺 taken in Sydney, Australia by @liam.and.aleja

One must master the shake out technique when one lives in a van. Liam is in training so try and be gentle with our dear apprentice. 👀

If you’re interested in our most necessary DAILY task while living in a van, it’s probably shaking everything up every morning…and converting our amazing double bed into sofa mode. Of course, this task can get somewhat repetitive and mundane so we have to add the laughter and giggles where we can. Liam does tend to bring it when it comes to this 🫶🫶
