Imperfect with @liamjcashin

The last roll I developed using my uncle’s 1950s Agfa developing tank came out far from perfect. After decades of use, the tank’s Bakelite material had deteriorated, preventing certain areas of the film from being evenly exposed to the chemicals during development.

At first, I thought this photograph and much of the roll had been ruined after spending the majority of the day documenting, But as I began looking through the negatives, those imperfections became a source of curiosity. What initially felt like a mistake gradually became part of the image’s character, and eventually, I grew to appreciate the unpredictability of the process.

For me, this is part of the beauty of working with film. Not everything can be controlled, and sometimes the imperfections create something more honest and unique than what was originally intended.
