Figured I’d reintroduce myself.

With pride month here, I want to be brutally honest.

It took me a long time to accept who I was. I hated that I was trans, or that I was questioning my gender identity in general. Even before this, I suppressed my sexuality and being attracted to girls from a very young age…I hated who I was physically though, I hated what I looked at in the mirror every single day- I felt unaligned with who I saw staring back at me for YEARS. Most mornings started the same, almost on the verge of tears if I stared long enough at myself…but I suppressed all thoughts and emotions most of my childhood and teenage years.

I battled internally until I couldn’t anymore. At least not alone. Did I fully know I was transgender? No. But the more I learned about what it meant to be trans, the more I felt aligned and seen for once. The more I understood about myself.

I came out in 2017. It wasn’t easy, but I had to do it for myself. To this day, I still have to ā€œcome out,ā€ but it’s different now. I’m secure with who I am. I’m proud to be trans and I know it doesn’t define me because I’m much more than my gender identity.

It’s just a part of my life story at this point, and it’s one I’m extremely proud of.

Happy Pride to all my homiesšŸ™‚ā€ā†•ļø

I’ll be honest, I used to be so damn insecure about my arm.

Post stage 1, I questioned if I made the right decision with going through bottom surgery. All the open wounds, the freshness of those wounds, I was truly disgusted not going to lie. I never wanted to touch it. First time I had to wash my arm in the shower, I almost passed out- luckily my mom was there with me for that. Having to wrap and conceal my arm, my leg, my penis, every. single. day. For months- to a year. I asked myself if all of this was truly worth it. I didn’t have an answer at that time, but I knew I needed to just stick through the process. (And there was also no going backšŸ˜‚ so that was my only option anyway).

I never wanted to go out in public with my arm. I was very self conscious. To this day, I always know when someone looks/glances at it. But it’s different now compared to then- solely because I gained confidence with it. I needed time to adjust. To realize that this was my norm now. I hated having to wear a sun protectant sleeve in the first year because I knew that just drew more attention to me- people would ask what happened, etc.

The way I worked on this insecurity- I would go to the gym without wearing a sleeve. It forced me to get comfortable with seeing it and being in a public setting as well. As I got more comfortable, I started going out at night without long sleeves or a bandage on. After a year, I stopped wearing my sun protectant sleeve and let the sun do its thing (as I have w every other scar on my body).

I’m VERY pleased with how my scar has faded and how it looks now. I rubbed vitamin E oil with shea butter lotion on it every single day (still do), wore a silicone sleeve to bed for 2 years every single night (got this from my OT), alongside the sun exposure. I don’t think twice about my arm now. I also do NOT regret bottom surgery by any means. I just needed time to do its thing- that’s why I always say to stay patient.

I can tattoo over it if I want- so many people ask this. I don’t plan to right now, nor do I feel the need to. I’ve grown to love my scar and for what it always reminds me of.

Idrk why I share all this tbh. Just showing u im human too. by @liamlazore

2.5 months left in the year, what’re you going to do with it?

Most people make excuses for themselves because it’s easy, it makes you feel better in a way. You know what’s hard? Not the plan or doing the work- it’s sticking to the plan. Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year.

A lot of you don’t see results because you’re in a constant cycle of starting and then quitting after a few weeks, or even a few months. You give up and then you have to start all over again. What went wrong here? You didn’t stick to the plan.

Consistency builds. Idk how many times I need to say it. Sometimes you won’t see results for a while, and then all of sudden they come out of nowhere. The biggest thing: stick to a plan. Follow through. I see too many people give up on themselves. And for what reason? I can’t answer that for you.

There’s always a work around. There’s always a plan you can follow. There’s always a way. Most of you set new year’s goals- especially with fitness. I’ll be brutally honest, 70-80% of those people fail. We see it every single year. Most give up after 2-4 weeks.

Results take time. So my advice to you, stop waiting for the new year to ā€œstart again,ā€ just for you to fail again. There’s no better time than now and I’ve always been a firm believer on that. At the end of the day, you owe it to yourself.

Hosted my very first @trovatrip to Thailand and it was better than I could’ve ever imagined🤩

Now that I’ve had some time to compose my thoughts, this was truly an unforgettable experience with unforgettable people. It was an absolute honor on my end to watch the relationships develop and grow throughout this whole group.

We all come from different walks of life, and I feel so grateful to have been able to cross paths with you all! With majority of us being trans, and most of you saying you’ve never been surrounded by this many people in our community, we truly became a family in such a short amount of time. Thank you for making my first hosted trip one I’ll always remember and cherish. It’s different when we’re able to connect on a deeper level through all of our experiences and truly understand what one of us has gone through, or might be going through- speaking for myself, I feel incredibly seen and understood.

Huge thank you to @trovatrip for planning our whole trip and letting us travel safely as trans men. This goes above and beyond for us, so from my heart alone, thank you!

And most importantly, thank you to @jjay_abn for always being the BEST guide. This was my second trip with Jay Jay, and I can speak for all of us- he is hands down the funniest, most caring, knowledgeable, and genuine personšŸ™‡ā€ā™‚ļø

They say your friends are your chosen family, and they be right.

I came out in 2017- I took it in stages though. Clare was the very first person I came out to because I needed someone to give me the confidence to come out to my parents that same night, and she did exactly that.

I came out to everyone else as the months went on before going completely public with it. I had no idea how any of my friends were going to take it, but I had a call with every person who I was closest with at that time. The more I came out, the more I felt free in a way.

I’m forever grateful for the people I have in my life. I cherish every relationship and will always show up for the ones I love.

Kyra, Clare, Rachel, Claud & Kenzi, you all are sisters to me as you know. I know I can be a smart ass and incredibly sarcastic most of the time, but I love every single one of you.

We might have drifted a little over the years (that’s life) and half of us live in different areas, but we still talk in our group chat from freshman year of HS every single day. Life gets busy, but we still make time for each other and I’ll always cherish that.

We’ve watched each other grow up. I’m lucky enough to say I have many relationships like this in my life. Basically just wanted to take time to show my love for these ladies.

Appreciate ya’ll fr, k ttyl xoxo taken in Home by @liamlazore

Dysphoria’s works in strange ways I realized.

I really hope someone understands what I’m trying to explain lol

Someone once said, ā€œI take it as an opportunity to say hello to what once was because that person carried me to where I am now. It was through her courage that I could step in to my true form.ā€ And I thought was beautiful.

I can speak more on my dysphoria, but it never goes away, and I think that’s where most people are misinformed.
