This race is from a while ago but I thought I handled it well and theres some good highlights. The video also isn't available on the twitch or youtube channels so I wanted to upload it here for safe keeping.

I've been working hard at Spa practice and took a while to get round to this update.

Daytona had ups and downs for me, I miss-timed my Quali run and didn't get a time on the board. From then on though I had a great race event going from 25th to 10th in the 30 minute heat and 3rd to 2nd in the 12 minute sprint.

Next event is Spa-Francorchamps this Sunday Feb 6th. Starting live at 8pm GMT for AMs and then my races starting at 9pm on the UKSimRacing Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/uksimracing

Round 1 was a blast!
Qualified P3, Finished 4th.

Nerves were super high, a few mistakes were made but I'll keep it brief. There were some super competitive drivers out there and I am just over the moon to start the season off with 4th place and 4th in the championship.

My pace was there, I know what I need to work on, bring on the rest of the season 💪

Hey guys, new season starting this weekend 9th Jan.

I've graduated into the top division of the league so we're in for a really tough battle!

Had a nice relax, before getting back to work on my pace and found some time.

There were a lot of reasons, "what-if"s and "could-have-been"s that we can discuss but I didn't have the finish I would have liked in the Final round and dropped to 4th in the championship.

I am gutted because if I had managed to keep the car on track for the final I may have even had a championship win. That's how racing goes sometimes though. I'll be trying again next season!

4th is still a really good finish that I am happy with given this was my first ever GT3 season on iRacing. I had a lot to learn going into it and I've learnt a lot but there is still so much more work to do. Onwards and upwards for next season hopefully, but I'm going to try to relax for a little bit first 😅 by @liammurray60

The Pro and Elite divisions of UKSR's GT3 league will fight for championship glory tonight at the mountain!

Sadly our usual commentator James is unwell so the stream might be a little different tonight as it's being run by Nathan who volunteered.

I'll be racing in the Amateur Division race next Sunday at 8:55pm.

Last one about Suzuka.

After my spin into the wall, I had damage to the rear wing which was making the rear end very hard to control.

I couldn't pit right away as our fuel window wasn't open and I didn't want to make this a 2-stop race. I did pit as early as possible for a 1 stop and came back out onto the track in 14th.

We raced our way up to 4th though as other drivers had their stops and some had spins too.

Going into the final round of the championship, I am currently in 2nd place overall. With 5 points between 1st and me and also 5 points between 3rd and me.

It is ALL to play for at Bathurst's Mount Panorama Circuit!!!

The kerbing at this track has some serious dips on the other side, If you run a little wider and hit the green part with the whole tyre you're fine and if you run a little narrower and stay on the kerbing you're fine.
If you get it right in the middle though like I've done here, a significant part of the tyre is touching nothing but air and round you spin.
I was aware of this for 2 other kerbs on this track as I had spun in those places in my practice.
Unfortunately, I had never spun on this kerb in practice so I had no idea it was also one of these danger kerbs until it was too late.
I was giving the other 2 danger kerbs extra caution and just had no idea about this one.

BUT Oh well, it's all a good learning experience and Suzuka taught me a lot about the Porsche and I'll be taking that knowledge with me to the next race at Bathurst! by @liammurray60

Suzuka is a tricky one, every corner here is so easy to lose the rear end at.

Some of the kerbs here are very specific about how they like to be run. In my next post, you'll see why.
