What really makes an agent want to sign someone?

Over the past few weeks, I sat down with Liam Tiesteel from LJT Talent Management to ask the questions performers genuinely want answers to.

From approaching agents and building strong working relationships, to marketability, auditions and common misconceptions, these are honest insights from someone making decisions every day.

If you’re a performer (or about to graduate), I hope there’s something here that helps you take the next step with a little more confidence.

LJT Talent Management had its 4th annual celebration party to mark another year of hard work and dedication to talent management — and what a night it was! 🥂

Looking back over the last four years, from Liam starting the agency in his bedroom at just 21 with little to no experience, it truly proves that anything is possible with passion and determination.

For the first year and a half, Liam was travelling the world while working on a cruise ship. We often call the agent lifestyle “jet setting” — but this definitely took it to another level! 🛳️

Fast forward to now… after countless panel days, showcases, award shows and nominations, we couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunities we’re presented with every single day. 🙏🏻

Every day brings new challenges, successes, and rejections — but most importantly, it brings us closer to the individual goals of our incredible family of clients. 💻

We truly have the best job in the world, and the final slide is a perfect reminder of why we do what we do: collaborating with artists and helping them reach their dreams. ❤️
