What’s the message of SYNAPSES? ⚡️ Paul Meade directed this piece both for its debut in @civictheatretallaght and for its tour of Ireland spanning the summer months ☀️

Paul of course is also the writers @liamwsmyth mentor, commencing training at 15 years old in a summer program at the Lir.

But wait… there’s more 🎭

From August 19 - 21, the final planned staging of a Gúna Nua play will take place in The New Theatre at 19:30 nightly, also marking the plays final shows after a 3 month long tour⚡️

SYNAPSES takes to the stage for only three more performances to share the truth of a family on the brink. With an army of parental influencers online sharing how easy parenting is, SYNAPSES brings us intimately close, telling the truth of what happens behind our front doors, reminding us that we are not alone ❤️

SYNAPSES was written by @liamwsmyth and produced by @gunanuatheatre in collaboration with @civictheatretallaght. Liam also wrote MAGIC PLAY with GUNA Nua in collaboration with @bewleyscafetheatre and produced The 330 at Cheltenham starring @ken_hudsonn and @darraghconway

SYNAPSES stars Liam and @mollydowney_actor, is directed by @paul.r.meade, lighting designed by @inawordtheatrecompany, set and costume designed by @irisliange, sound designed by @danmobrien100, and asst. dr. By @fitzroysky

Synapses concludes a three month long tour following its debut in The Civic, after visiting Limerick, Galway, Wicklow, Clontarf, Balbriggan, and Cork.

SYNAPSES follows Mike and Emily, a divorced couple who constantly row about money, access, and parenting style. One fateful afternoon for the sake of their young son, they try to find a better way. It all goes wrong, it all goes right, and an electrical fault spins them and us back and forth through time in search of the truth.

Amidst a rise of parental influencers and relationship gurus online, this two hander brings us intimately close to the reality of young families behind closed doors.
