Truth? I hate downhill mountain biking.
I hate how terrifying it is.

But I love who I’m becoming because of it. 🫶🏼

And damn, riding with other women has made a difference. @aglopez24 , @allicia_in_wonderland.91 , @logsdontlie , @rubinsamwich , @mee_shellphoto @lucstew , and so many more (@hannahbergemann for the most courageous words in the Whistler parking lot 🚀🫶🏼). You gals and y’all know who you are. Thanks for the tows, the encouragement, the stoke, and for making scary shit feel a little less scary.

I almost didn’t buy the Downhill bike or a Northstar pass because it felt like such a big investment. Looking back, it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. Not just because of the trails or travel, but because of the people I’ve met, the coaching I’ve received, and the confidence I’ve gained every weekend. 💜🚵🏼‍♀️ by @libberish

Yep, I cased it. But now I know the speed, I know the line, and I know what it takes. Progression isn’t just the clips you post ➡️ it’s getting back up, making the mental adjustment, and taking another go. 🤘

One baddie sends it… and suddenly the whole group starts believing they can too.. 🤘🏼

Two @northstar_california Friday POP Clinics (Progression On Pedals) later, my confidence on the bike has changed completely. Riding with a group of bad🍑 supportive women who breakdown and encourage each other to try scary features has made all the difference. 💕

Huge thanks to the coaches and everyone who’s helped make the start of the summer so much fun. 💃🏼🌶️🔥 #gohstpeppercrew

We had to say goodbye to one of our very best friends.💔

Scroll through the beautiful adventures and quiet love Hobbes brought to our family.

This last photo in the series was taken before we knew how much life was about to change. Just my mom and Hobbes on the trail, moving at the same pace, exactly where they belonged. Hobbes loved being out there with her. The walks, the hikes, the quiet companionship that didn’t need anything else.

When my mom got sick, Hobbes stayed close. She slept beside her night after night, offering the kind of steady presence that only dogs know how to give. Losing Hobbes after losing my mom feels bittersweet, like another piece of that life gently closing.

I remember taking this photo and realizing, even then, that moments like this don’t last forever. That thought made me say yes to more adventures and hold on a little tighter.

We only get a handful of years with these little balls of love, but they leave us with a lifetime of memories. Don’t wait. Go on the walks. Take the trips. Let them curl up beside you. Love them fully, so when the goodbye comes, you know there was nothing left undone.

Pushed past comfort. Caught at the bottom.
💙Grateful for being in a group that challenges me and then waits for me, films me, cheers me on, and never makes me feel small for learning. Shoutout to @kellybknapp and @justin.cone for pushing me just enough and having my back the whole way down.

Side-slipping isn’t failure, it’s progression. And if looking like a Jerry on the mountain is part of learning, I’ll own it. Miss Blueberry Jerry-Rita and proud
