1600 of you, I am beyond grateful 🤍

Over the past few months, I’ve realised that this page has become so much more than a place to share yoga.

It’s become somewhere I can show up honestly.

Not because I always feel confident or have everything figured out, but because every time I choose to share anyway, I grow a little more.

There are still days I overthink what to post, wonder if it’s good enough, or compare myself to people further along the path. But I’m learning that those thoughts don’t get to decide whether I show up.

Yoga has taught me that the practice isn’t about perfection. It’s about tapas (remaining consistent) and returning. Returning to the breath. Returning to the body. Returning to yourself.

That’s what I hope this space can be.

A place where we don’t have to have all the answers.
A place where we can move, breathe, reflect, and grow together. Even just one small step at a time. by @libbyjanesilson

Surya Namaskar A ☀️

Surya Namaskar translates to ‘Salutation to the Sun’. In some Indian traditions, the sun is honoured as a source of light, energy and life. For me, practising this sequence is a little way of expressing gratitude for the sun and the life it gives us, while respecting and honouring this beautiful yogic practice.

Each movement is linked with your breath, making it a lovely way to move your body, slow your mind and come back to the present moment.

If you’re new to yoga, you’ll come across this sequence in lots of classes. Save this guide to come back to as you build your practice, and eventually it will become second nature ☺️🌼

Yoga is not one single path. Beyond asana, it offers different ways to build a deeper relationship with yourself, with others, and with something greater.

Which path feels most familiar to you? 🤍 by @libbyjanesilson

A few of my favourite ways to explore backbends with a yoga wheel 💫

I love using my yoga wheel to open through my chest and shoulders, explore spinal mobility and find a little more space through the front of my body. It makes you feel sooo good!

4 thoracic mobility drills 🌀

Your thoracic spine is the part of your spine that runs through your upper and middle back. These movements explore spinal extension, rotation and shoulder mobility.

1: Child’s Pose to Upward-Facing Dog
Move slowly between the two poses, rounding through your spine as you move back, then gliding forwards and lifting your chest. Repeat for 8 rounds.

2: Puppy Pose with rotation
Rest your elbows on blocks in Puppy Pose. Keeping one elbow grounded, rotate your chest and look underneath your opposite arm. Take 5 breaths on each side.

3: Thread the Needle with a bind
From all fours, thread one arm underneath your body, rotating through your upper back. If comfortable, reach your other arm around your back for a gentle bind. Hold for 5 breaths on each side.

4: Cat Pose to chest opener
Come onto your fingertips, slightly wider than your mat. Round through your upper back, then glide your chest low and forwards and lift, focusing on extending through your upper back rather than collapsing into your lower back. Repeat for 8 rounds.

Save this for your next mobility session 🤍 by @libbyjanesilson

Our words, whether spoken out loud or repeated quietly in our minds, have the power to shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us.

Through the practice of Ahimsa, we are reminded to meet ourselves with the same kindness and compassion we offer others. Let your inner dialogue be a place full of words that uplift you, encourage you, and remind you of your worth 🫂 by @libbyjanesilson

Wheel pose (Urdhva Dhanurasana) 💫

With consistent practice, you can work towards:

• Better posture
• A stronger, more mobile spine
• More open shoulders and chest
• Greater backbend flexibility
• Stronger arms and legs
• Improved hip mobility
• More confidence!

My shoulders used to be SO tight I couldn’t even push myself up off the floor! Over time, with practice and patience, I’ve made it here.

A little reminder that progress takes time. Keep showing up on your mat and see what happens ☺️ by @libbyjanesilson

1 asana, 4 variations 🕊️

Give these variations a try and see where your practice takes you!

I love working towards new variations and shapes. It’s not just about getting into the final pose, but about practising abhyasa, showing up consistently, and tapas, cultivating the discipline and determination to keep going.

Be patient with yourself, enjoy the process and let your practice unfold in its own time.

Save this to come back to as you progress! 🤍 by @libbyjanesilson
