Your valve might not be failing because it is cheap. It might be failing because the material package does not match the chemistry.

PVC, CPVC, PP, PVDF, EPDM, FKM, and PTFE all have different chemical limits. Sodium hypochlorite is especially unforgiving because off-gassing, venting, seats, seals, and diaphragm construction all matter.

Before you reorder the same failed valve, send us the chemistry.

DM “SPEC” for the checklist.

Before you reorder the same chemical valve, send us the chemistry. 🧪

Most recurring valve failures aren't solved by switching brands blindly. In corrosive chemical service, the failure point might be the body material, but it’s just as likely to be the seat, seal, O-ring, diaphragm, connection style, or trapped cavity pressure.

Asahi/America Type-21/21a ball valves, Type-14 diaphragm valves, and Type-57 butterfly valves each serve different application profiles. The correct choice depends on the actual service conditions—especially in sodium hypochlorite service, where off-gassing and oxidizer exposure change everything.

A valve can look “chemically compatible” on paper and still fail if the full material package is wrong.

How to get a Spec Check:
Send LibertyCES the chemical name, concentration, temperature, pressure, valve type, and failure photos. We’ll help verify the correct body material, elastomers, and actuation options.

DM "SPEC" for our Hypochlorite Valve Spec Check or to start your review.

Wastewater pH compliance is not solved by one tank, one pump, or one controller.

A reliable system comes down to the decisions behind the install: flow rate, inlet pH, tank sizing, secondary containment, dosing pump control, mixing, level measurement, flow verification, alarms, and discharge documentation.

This is what an automated pH neutralization system looks like when those pieces are designed to work together — not guessed together in the field.

For plant managers, EHS teams, facility engineers, and operations leads evaluating a similar system, we put together a free field reference:

The Wastewater pH System Specification Checklist
7 critical decisions pulled from a real installation — built to help you spec, evaluate, or audit an automated pH treatment system without the vendor spin.

DM “pH CHECKLIST” and we’ll send it over.

Sodium hypochlorite destroys more metering pumps than any other chemical in water treatment - and most of those failures are 100 percent preventable.

The problem is not the chemical. The problem is the specification.

Off-gassing chlorine builds pressure inside standard valve cavities and pump heads, causing vapor lock, seal degradation, and complete loss of prime - often invisible until a compliance test fails.

The fix is not a repair. It is a correct first specification: PVDF wetted parts, vented ball valves, vertical pump head orientation, EPDM seals, and PP or PVDF piping rated for continuous oxidizer service.

This carousel breaks down exactly how sodium hypochlorite destroys unprotected systems and what a zero-failure specification looks like from pump to injection point. by @libertyces

Is your plant one cracked fitting away from a $50,000 HazMat nightmare? 🚨

Standard HDPE tanks aren't built for aggressive chemicals like sodium hypochlorite. It’s an industry-wide blind spot: bleach slowly oxidizes standard plastic from the inside out.

The result? Brittle walls, stressed bottom fittings, and catastrophic containment failures. You aren't just losing product—you’re buying EPA fines and total plant downtime.

Stop gambling your operating budget on cheap plastic.

The permanent fix is crosslinked XLPE from LibertyCES. Featuring an Integrally Molded Flanged Outlet (IMFO), our systems eliminate seams and structural weak points entirely. It's virtually bulletproof against environmental stress cracking.

Standard tanks are a liability. LibertyCES is an insurance policy. 🛡️

EPDM in sodium hypochlorite service is not a compatibility question - it is a guaranteed failure timeline.

Most chemical pump breakdowns in water treatment are not random.

They follow a predictable path rooted in elastomer selection.

Swap to FKM wetted seals and diaphragm materials, verify your pump head orientation accounts for off-gassing, and size against full system backpressure - not just flow rate.

The pump that lasts 4 weeks and the pump that lasts 4 years are often the same model.

The difference is the spec.

Mag drive pump decoupling is one of the most misdiagnosed failures in chemical transfer.

The motor keeps running.
The pump looks fine.
But nothing is moving.

Here is exactly why it happens and how to stop it before it costs you a barrier failure or a compliance event.

Fluid specific gravity too high.
Viscosity above spec.
Dead-heading against a closed valve.
Solids blocking the impeller.

Any one of these pushes impeller torque past the magnetic coupling pull-out threshold and the outer drive spins free while the inner assembly stalls.

No flow.
Heat building in the rear casing.
Containment barrier at risk.

The fix is not a bigger pump.
It is correct specification against actual fluid conditions and a power monitor that trips the motor within seconds of decoupling.

Mag-drive pumps are sold as 'leak-free.' They are — until they aren't.

Dry run destroys carbon bushings in minutes. Vapor lock kills dosing accuracy. Magnetic decoupling happens when viscosity or solids load exceeds the coupling rating.

These aren't random failures. They're specification failures.

Swipe to see exactly what causes mag-drive pump failures in chemical service — and how to spec around every one of them.

Your plant is talking to you. Are you listening? 🔊

The difference between a catastrophic failure and a scheduled repair is DATA.

We’re moving from the "Old SCADA" nightmare (rust, steam, anxiety) to the Becker Digital Standard.

Stop guessing. Start knowing.

They didn’t have a pump failure, they had a spec failure!

- High-chloride fluid.
- Aggressive chemistry.
- Cheap materials.

Sure they saved a few thousand upfront.
But it cost them far more in lost production.

Aggressive chemistry doesn’t care about your budget.

On paper, Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) looks like a miracle. Clean, fast, and green. But the brine doesn’t care about your pitch deck.

We call it "Liquid Sandpaper." It’s hot. It’s acidic. It’s loaded with silica grit. If you try to move it with standard centrifugal pumps, you are building a time bomb.

Swipe left to see the timeline:
👉 Slide 1: The Expectation.
👉 Slide 2: The Reality (Corrosion & Seal Failure).
👉 Slide 4: The Liberty Spec (The Armor).

At LibertyCES, we stop treating mining like water treatment. We use sealless mag-drives and armored linings to win the war against corrosion.

We see brilliant lithium extraction pilots crash every day.

They have the financing, chemistry and even 90% recovery rates.

But they fail in the Valley of Death.
Because the "shiny high-tech idea" meets the brutal reality of industrial physics.

In this 60-second breakdown, we show why standard plant plumbing literally cannot survive the process.
