There’s a quote my dad wrote in a letter to one of our kids for a retreat. It goes like this
“Life is a lot like a roller coaster ride. You have to work through the low spots to enjoy the views from the peaks, but you always have the three F’s - Faith, Family and Friends to help you learn to look at problems not as obstacles, but as opportunities”

Life and Golf (or anything you pour your heart and soul into) can feel this way.
This is one of the many reasons I love to see kids playing sports because it teaches us SO much about life.

There have been many ups and downs, but this past Sunday Belles got to walk across a stage and accept her LPGA Tour card. 🙌🏼

The work these 15 girls have put in is more than most anyone truly understands. Hundreds more have worked just as hard and are still chasing this dream. All of them riding the highs and lows of the Golf/Life roller coaster.

What impresses me most about all of them is their heart and resiliency.
Seeing problems (missed putts and cuts, the occasional errant shot or bad bounce) not as obstacles but as opportunities to learn and grow and get better every day.

I pray they know and have the three F’s - Faith, Family and Friends to help them through the ups and downs of this crazy game and Life.

As you enjoy this view from the peak, we sure are happy for you Bellesy and can’t wait to watch you impact others on the LPGA next year.

FUN quick weekend trip to Nashville for a Beautiful Baby shower for Allie thrown by her sister in law @eventsbyemmascott 🙌🏼🩷🩵
T-minus 3 weeks on grandbaby #7🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Also got to take PJ to her first college golf tournament and hang out with the Tigers and the Suns Devils coached by my former teammate Missy Farr. ❤️

She had a blast and figured out quickly if you cheer on the girls and are cute they give you free golf balls and tees. 🙌🏼

“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind can conceive the things God has prepared for those who love him”
~ 1st Corinthians 2:9

I think of this verse often. But not usually when things are going well. I think of it when things aren’t going well.

The Holy Spirit reminds my heart of what’s true even when it doesn’t feel like it.

That God is Good. ALL the time. And that He has Good plans for us.

I don’t always know when or how that will play out and it might look different than I think it will, but I whisper this truth to myself that good things are coming somehow….someway….someday.

And then one day something shifts, truth comes to light, faith is made sight, and I am left speechless.

Even though life can be hard, the Kingdom of Heaven starts here and I believe that God wants to give us good things here on earth.

The ultimate thing God has prepared for us is Heaven and someday ….
something will shift and truth will be brought to light and our faith will be made sight. I can’t wait for that day. 🎉🙌🏼

Until then, days like this past weekend when a long time hope and dream comes into reality are a sweet fun foreshadowing and we are so grateful.

So the Stack has been sitting on a few secrets and it’s time to let the cat out of the bag. We have not one, not two but THREE new grandbabies on the way!!! 👶🏻👶🏻👶🏻

Here are a few pictures and hilarious reaction videos that we hope you enjoy.
Clearly the little boys were not impressed with the news 😂😂

If you’re counting this will be grands #6-8 for us and #16-18 additions to the Stack 😳

In full disclosure in our growing stack we have had 2 miscarriages and other hard things happen in the past few years so we are overjoyed with the Goodness of God and His Amazing Grace toward us in these coming little ones. 🩷💙🎉

If you are going thru a hard time I just want to remind you that it’s temporary. It is. 🙌🏼

God is good, even when it doesn’t feel like it. And He has good plans for us. We just have to wait & trust Him through the valleys. Not easy… but possible. 💪🏼

Welcome to the “Akers of Fun” Beach House!

When Mom and Dad bought their retirement home in AZ they talked a lot about us all using it one day when they were gone but what we realized over the years was while we love AZ, it was so far from where any of our kids lived and we didn’t see it getting used very much. It killed us to sell it.

In the years since mom passed we would joke about taking the money they left us and buying a place that was centrally located to all of us for vacations and gatherings for our growing families.

Then things got real when we got to know Sasha McDonald and the joke became a prayer to see if this was really something God wanted us to do and now that prayer has become a reality.

Special shout out to Sasha who has sold and built homes in that area and oversaw this project from start to finish. We would have NEVER been able to do this without Sasha. If you’ve ever thought about a beach house in the 30A area she is your girl!!!

It was when we met her that we stopped joking and started praying.
She was quite literally a God Send!

We told the kids and then all met there last Thanksgiving to write scripture passages on the studs before the drywall went up so it would literally be saturated in God’s Word.

We hope to make many FUN family memories here in honor of Nana and Pop (Chuck and Leslie Akers) for many years to come 🙌🏼🎉

Family was everything to Mom and Dad and is to us as well so we want to share it with other families too. Nothing would make Mom and Dad happier than to bring families together for lots of FUN.

Last week the Leader of our Stack was inducted into the Indiana Golf Hall of Fame.
He is characterized over and over by those who know him well as a servant leader.

The Legacy he will leave in Golf pales in comparison to the Legacy left in the four people who introduced him. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
