I love this trend!!!

#5booksthat #books #reading #booksta #booktok

books I couldn’t put down:
chasing hope: couldn’t put it down because I wanted to know what was going to happen, but also had to put it down because I didn’t want it to end
please don’t go: SIX STAR READ - currently my favourite book of the year
praise: read this in 4.5 hours, could not put it down
caught up: kai rhodes, what more do I have to say???
the graham effect: it’s like I was reading the deal for the first time again, I will always love gigi graham

books I couldn’t stop talking about:
redeemed: the best and perfect ending to the dirty air series, santi’s story of finding himself again, falling in love and going back to f1, I will NOT shut up
the score: I mean dean and allie, what more do I need to say?? if I could only read one book from the off campus series it would be the score
face off: maverick was WALKED LIKE A DOG, he yearns for Emmy (and does for every book after face off)!
the right move: ryan shay IS THE book boyfriend of all time, the best brother, and loved Indy before he even knew it. I mean paying for her egg retrieval, buying them a home when they weren’t together but knew it would be their home, always having cold coffee ready for her in the morning, WHAT MORE?!?!
give me more: I meeeeean, my first MMF book I’ve read, I loved praise but give me more genuinely my favourite from the salacious club series. drake yearned for a man who was his best friend and (originally) let his best friend have the only woman he knew he could ever love!

these books I wouldn’t read again:
ugly love: it was a dnf, lacked depth, weak character development, toxic relationship dynamics
eyes on me: uneven pacing, underdevelopment of mental health issues (addiction etc), minimal emotional depth
deep end: unmet expectations for major tropes (exploration of bdsm), awkward setup of relationship + weird drama at the end, single pov
the fault in our stars: genuinely the tears i shed are not ones i want to again
credence: one and done read for me, disappointment in romance resolution, character interactions feel unrealistic by @librarybyrhi

hello!
I’m rhi, welcome to my bookstagram!

this year I rediscovered my love for reading after getting a kindle for my birthday, since then I haven’t put it down. my 2026 reading goal is to read 50 books, which I’m currently on track to exceed.

follow me on margins, link in my bio
🤍🤍

my kindle goes everywhere with me.
off campus was the first hockey series I ever read back in 2022, was obsessed (still am).
I’m always open to recs, I have a long TBR list. also part of a book club with some friends from work! by @librarybyrhi

📚 Books I need NOW (but unfortunately still have to wait for) — and I am impatient as fuck! 🫠

I am SO excited for these books. The end of 2026 and all of 2027 are looking very promising for my TBR! 🤩

Cardinal Rule is probably my most anticipated read, closely followed by Please Notice Me — the second book to my favourite read of 2026 so far, Please Don’t Go. I genuinely cannot wait to get my hands on these! 😭

What book are you most impatiently waiting for? 👀💗

📚 My October Wrapped 📚

14 books read last month, although honestly, it didn’t feel like that many! I think having only a handful of real standouts made October feel a little bit like a reading slump.

⭐ Favourite read: Until Forever Ends (ARC) – this one definitely takes the top spot! I have a full review up on my page if you want to hear more about it.

📉 Least favourite read: Love, PRN – unfortunately, it was a little too much medicine and not enough romance for me. It felt a bit too close to work, and I think I get enough of that during my actual shifts!

Now I want to know, what was your favourite and least favourite read of October? Did you have any five-star reads?

Because everyone loves a strong female main character! 💅🏼

These women really stuck with me. Everything I love about a strong female lead was wrapped up in the way they were written. Independent, fierce, resilient and unapologetically themselves.

And the fact that they all had their men absolutely on their knees for them? What more could you possibly want? 🤭

Who is your favourite female main character?

One thing about me is if a book has a good playlist, I know EXACTLY who the characters are — especially when Taylor Swift makes an appearance. 🤭🎧

These are just a few of the songs I now associate with specific couples from the books I’ve read this year. Some songs just become permanently linked to fictional couples, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Tell me, do you listen to music while you read, or do you need complete silence? 🎶

🎨My book palette🎨

I LOVE this trend! I’m also extremely guilty of picking up books simply because of their covers. I mean, who isn’t a sucker for a gorgeous book cover? Sometimes the cover really does sell the story before you’ve even read the blurb!

What book have you picked up purely because you fell in love with the cover?

The moment that made this book a 5⭐️ read

Everything about Ryker and Ruby made my heart flutter. This man loved her long before he ever fell in love with her, and I will never get over it. 🥹

A 5-star book all round! The slow burn from friendship to falling headfirst was the perfect pace, the writing was beautiful, and every emotion felt so real.

I also loved seeing Ruby navigate life as a nurse. Balancing relationships, friendships, shift work and everything in between is something that felt so relatable, and I loved seeing that part of her story represented.

Please, if you haven’t already, go and check out the Phil-U series! You won’t regret it. 🤍

📚 The books that altered my brain chemistry 📚

These three books are some of the most memorable reads I’ve ever had. There’s something about the way they explore such deep, emotional themes that has stayed with me long after turning the final page. Whether it was the characters, the stories, or the feelings they left me with, these are books I know I’ll never forget.

What books have stayed with you long after you finished reading them, and why? 🤍

(Some of) my 2026 favourite book boyfriends 🫶🏼📚

These men have my whole heart. Everything about them in their books… HOLY MOLY 🥵❤️‍🔥

Cade Eaton 🤠 — He was a goner for Willa, and he made it known. From the moment they met, he knew. He was also the perfect representation of a man who stepped up as a father because he wanted to and knew he needed to. Plus, he’s a cowboy. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?! 😮‍💨🤎

Maverick Miller 🏒 — A reformed playboy from the moment he laid eyes on Emmy. Touch her and die to a tee. WEARING HER JERSEY?! EVERYTHING. 😭❤️ His entire existence became about Emmy, and he made damn sure she knew it. THIS MAN.

Caleb Ellington 🖤 — He would do ANYTHING for Evie. The protection, the love, the yearning… AHHHH. This man is GOD TIER. The kind of book boyfriend who makes you want to scream into your pillow. 🥹❤️‍🔥

Ryan Shay 🥹❤️ — How could I make this post without mentioning my ultimate number one? Ladies and gentlemen… RYAN SHAY. He loved quietly, selflessly and beautifully. Paying for her IVF, buying her dream house (even when she didn’t end up with him), learning sign language so he could communicate with her dad… and that’s just the beginning. This man cannot be faulted, and NO ONE could EVER change my mind about Ryan Shay. I will defend him until my last breath.

Now tell me, who is your favourite book boyfriend? 👀📖 Because I am ALWAYS ready to add another man to my ever-growing list. 🤭❤️‍🔥

⭐️ my 10 before the end ⭐️

My list of books to finish before the end of 2026! 📚

I started Cross Check when it first came out, but it just wasn’t grabbing me like the rest of the series did (which was heartbreaking considering Face Off and Slap Shot are both in my top reads of the year 🥹). I’m hoping I can get back into it and finally finish it!

I also DNF’ed Better Than Revenge, but after hearing so many good things about it since putting it on pause, it’s definitely high on my list to pick back up!

Two of these books haven’t been released yet, and I’m already counting down the days until Scoring Her 🤭 The Boston Blues series was SO good, and I need more!

I hit my reading goal of 50 books for the year a while ago and am currently sitting at 78! 👀 Part of me wants to push for 100 books before the end of 2026, but with only a couple of months left… we’ll see how we go! 📖

What’s on your end-of-year TBR? 💌
