There's no big secret to becoming a "better reader". If you read books then you're a reader, that's it. Enjoy your book and don't let anyone tell you how you should be reading it by @libricat

The best thing you can do right now is READ Fahrenheit 451 and actually UNDERSTAND it.

AI companies are buying old books in order to train AI. Generative AI became a huge thing and the so-called "AI slop" has been proliferating across the internet, contaminating the data pool AIs are trained on.
And that was wonderful news until companies started feeding AI actual books, targeting the ones written before 2022, that likely don't contain AI generated content. The fastest way to do this is by buying a bunch of physical books, destroying them and throwing each page into a machine that scans them and stores them into private databases that the public can't access. They don't care about which books they're going to rip apart; it could be rare books that are hard to find and that could be lost forever.

All to make AI "smarter".
All to make people dumber.

They could come to burn your house anytime now, if they find out you're hiding books in there. Pick one up, hold it, read it, own it. Learn it by heart; you might need to pass it on someday. by @libricat
