Hi! It’s me, Elizabeth (Libs) Elliott. If you’re new, here’s the lowdown- I make modern quilts and ~sometimes~ use generative code to create my designs. I’ve been a fabric designer for 10+ years and I love to see how people use my collections! I’ve shown my work and taught in many places - Canada, U.S., France, Norway, Australia…always adding to the list because travel is a gift. My newest venture is hosting Craft & Quilting tours to beautiful places like Japan and Morocco. •••I run an inclusive online quilting community called the Sew Squad. It’s a space where we can connect, sew, recharge and do creative things together. It’s rad. You should check us out!•••When I was young, I hit my head on the punk rock. (But I’ll sing along to anything.) That punk DIY approach has always been at the forefront of my life - from making ’zines and promoting shows in the 1900’s to building my quilt biz from scratch - Making my own fun, with my own hands, is a core piece of who I am. My quilt series - Generative Threads - integrates algorithmic code with quilting to examine identity’s cyclical evolution. Through shifting colour and geometric pattern, the work reflects states of visibility, erasure and personal expansion. Swipe through to see all 13 quilts in the series. I originally quilted my Y-Seam class sample with Flash reflective thread but yesterday I added some Hologram thread just to try it out. Photos don’t do it justice…the sparkly sparkle is sparkling. ✨⚡️Second photo is with the flash on so you can see how the thread lights up. Both threads are from @wonderfilspecialtythread by @libselliott

Back home from the cottage now and catching up on work. Sometimes, I get into the ‘sew zone’ and it’s all I want to do but then I know that emails must be answered. Another week spent on Sandy Island, filled with wonder and joy and maybe a few tears. Reflecting on memories of all the time I’ve had up here with grandparents, parents, siblings, children, aunts and uncles, cousins and summertime neighbours. Grateful for this place. ♥️ by @libselliott
