I’ve smiled a thousands times before you,
with you, even, and now?
maybe a million to come.

a romance of 7,
a friendship of 16,
considered both home,
became auction houses;
bidding to be seen,
… the price was too high.
it is now a bid you well.
to both of you, in fact.
