I had such an amazing time yesterday celebrating all of the HBCUs at AYE Day @theeayeday ✊🏽💕

As a proud Alabama A&M University alumna, I can confidently say there’s truly nothing like the HBCU experience. I attended a PWI for graduate school, and while I’m grateful for that experience, my time at an HBCU will always hold a special place in my heart. Being surrounded by Black culture, excellence, pride, love, support, and community helped shape who I am today. My HBCU experience reminded me of my worth, celebrated my identity, and gave me a sense of belonging that is hard to put into words. There’s NOTHING like an HBCU! ✊🏾❤️ Jacket made by me 💁🏽‍♀️

My baby is officially a high school graduate! 🎓✨

Aleyah, I am beyond proud of you and all that you have accomplished. Over the years, I have watched you grow into a beautiful young woman who leads with her heart, works hard for what she wants, and never stops striving to be her best. Your bright spirit lights up every room you enter, and I have no doubt that you will make a lasting impact on this world.

As you begin this next chapter, I hope you always remember how talented, capable, and loved you are. Continue to dream big, believe in yourself, and walk confidently in your purpose. The future is so bright, and I cannot wait to see all the amazing things you will accomplish.

To our village…thank you. Thank you to every family member, friend, mentor, teacher, coach, and supporter who has poured into Aleyah throughout her journey.
