This photo was taken a month ago, but I had a visit from a monarch yesterday. I hope it’s on its way to warmer weather as it’s supposed to get a lot cooler later this week. It was in the 80’s yesterday. How can it be the middle of October already? I’m not ready for winter . Have a great day everyone. by @life_at_willowbrook

The morning hazy fog made for a beautiful sunrise this morning. It's been a long time since I've posted. Hope you all are well, and if you're dealing with the bad weather. I hope you stay safe. by @life_at_willowbrook

Just getting on the @chatgpt bandwagon. It’s quite fun seeing what it does with the photos you give it. Thanks to all that have given the instructions on how to do it.
Hope you all have a great weekend. The girls have dance recitals both days and I’m so excited. I just love watching them perform. by @life_at_willowbrook

Back on January 2, I came home from running errands, and my dogs did not come to greet me. As I got farther in the house, the dogs were fixed on something near the floor. I came to investigate, and found a black swallowtail butterfly. Now given that the temps outside were only in the 20’s, I knew it didn’t just arrive. I contacted @donmwr , who is very knowledgeable about butterflies, and she said to soak a sponge with Gatorade, or slice up an orange to hopefully get the butterfly to eat. I brought up my butterfly enclosure that I had from raising monarchs some years ago, to put the butterfly in. Sadly it only survived a couple weeks, and has now joined my others moths and butterflies in my display box. My son sent me the little clipping about butterflies appearing after a loved one dies. I’d like to think this is the reason behind the butterfly showing up here in the dead of winter, and my granddaughters are sure it was sent by their grandpa. by @life_at_willowbrook
