Our garden, see the second photo of how it all started. We designed it and did as much work as we could ourselves. Our garden has been shortlisted for the @ufurnishcom best garden award🙌🏾 I would really love for you to give a little vote if you can. I haven’t really promoted this, which is me all over! But we have worked really hard creating our Mediterranean garden escape.

I’ll share the link to vote over on my stories 😊

Ad - For all my fellow autumn hibernators. I love starting my day with a crisp dog walk, then coming home, lighting a candle and getting cosy.

Part of my daily ritual is a nice warm coffee in my favourite mug, with one scoop of @ancientandbrave True Collagen stirred in.

I think It’s the small things that make the shorter days feel extra calm and cosy, don’t you?

Wow October, what a month but it went soooooo fast!

I had the best time celebrating my birthday and spending time with lots of my favourite people.

We’re now in full Reno mode trying to get lots done before we move in. Yesterday was a full day at the cottage so today we’re taking some time off, going out for a nice roast and then catching up with family.

Have a lovely Sunday whatever you are up to 🤎🍂

An easy Homemade pumpkin spice syrup for your tasty pumpkin spice latte at home.

I think there’s something so comforting about making your own coffee syrup in autumn. The kitchen fills with cinnamon, it very calming and you know exactly what’s in it.

What you’ll need:
½ cup pumpkin purée
½ cup maple syrup
½ cup water
1 tsp pumpkin spice
½ tsp ground cinnamon
a pinch of salt
1 tsp vanilla bean paste

Stir everything together and let it simmer gently for about 10 minutes. Strain it into airtight container and once cool keep it in the fridge. It will keep for up to 2 weeks.

Just add a spoonful or two into a warm latte or coffee of your choice to make you perfect homemade pumpkin spice coffee. Then all that’s left to do is just relax and enjoy it. Oh and do you like my new birthday mug 🤍🍐

Save this pumpkin spice syrup recipe for your next slow morning 🤎🍂

Cottage Diaries | Episode 1: Our Cottage Renovation House Tour 🏡

Come on in…

This is the downstairs of our cottage, exactly as we found it, before we stripped it back and the renovation began.

It’s got such a lovely feeling and there’s always sunlight pouring through the windows, quiet rooms waiting for a little love, and a fireplace I already picture curling up next to on winter evenings.

It’s not quite us yet, but we can see the potential. We’re getting lots of the messy jobs done but will be taking our time fully transforming our cottage. It messy and dirty with lots of decisions to make but we’re enjoying the start of our renovation journey.

There’s still lots to show you. I’ll be sharing the upstairs house tour next week 🤍

I’m trying to keep a bit of calm here while we renovate our cottage.

As you know, I love a tidy home, and it’s even more important to me while our new house is all dust and chaos. Having a calm, tidy space makes everything feel more manageable for me during our cottage renovation.

Slow living and ordinary autumn days at home, while the renovation journey carries on, is just what I need.

I hope you have a lovely start to your week 🤎🍂

We’ve done a thing 🙌🏾

I’ve been keeping a secret, and it’s finally time to share it with you. For months we’ve been quietly dreaming, viewing, waiting and keeping our fingers crossed. Now the keys are ours to our new home and completely different to what we have now, it’s a cottage. The only people we told were our children and their partners, we wanted to wait until we’d completed, just in case.

Yesterday I asked what you thought my news was. Most of you had me jetting off travelling for three months, You know me well and it was tempting! But not now we have a cottage to renovate 😂 Well done, a few of you guessed right.

There’s lots to do, but we’re so excited to bring this beautiful cottage back to life, put our stamp on it and make it ours. My head is already buzzing with ideas, and I can’t wait to share the whole journey with you.

We’re excited for our new chapter.

My weekend was so full in the best way. Lots of my favourite people, lots of plans, late nights, good food and a few drinks.

So yesterday was the opposite. A slower morning, nourishing food, no plans, nowhere to be, just doing a few jobs but mainly pottering at home, feeling calm and cosy.

For me, it’s the perfect kind of reset.

What’s your favourite way to reset?

And Just like that I turn 60 today

I want to thank all my past ages for getting me here. It’s going to be a fun time celebrating. Starting last night a lovely hotel stay and meal with Millie, a fun breakfast event, and evening with family and then away on a surprise trip with Pete. As if I haven’t celebrated enough already 🤭

I’m excited for this new stage of my life 🎂🎉🙌🏾❤️

A simple way to give your leftover pumpkins a second life

I had an idea so I hollowed the pumpkin out, pushed a couple of twigs through for perches and support, filled it with bird seed and hung it in a tree in our front and back garden. I made it for the birds, but the squirrel found it first but I don’t really mind. The birds loved the one in the back garden.

🎃A gentle tip before you try this - Only use a plain pumpkin. Avoid any that are painted, varnished, salted, spiced, or carved and lit with candles, as wax and soot aren’t good for wildlife. Keep an eye on it, and once it starts to soften or go mouldy, pop it on the compost heap and refill a fresh one.

Save this for after Halloween
The wildlife will love it 🤎 by @life_of_isatu

The season for slower mornings and softer evenings is here. I love slow living all year round, but autumn is when it feels most natural.

This autumn at home I’ll be enjoying muddy walks with Ziggy (well, until we get home 🤦🏽‍♀️), warmer breakfasts, my teapot on the go a lot more, calm candles on repeat and a long relaxing bubble bath to end my day.

None of it is extraordinary, and that’s exactly the point. These small, unhurried moments are what make a house feel like home as the days draw in.

Do you have any rituals that make your autumn feel extra cosy?🤎🍂
