Crispy lawn edges don't happen by accident.

Here's my process for getting that clean, professional finish:

✅ Step 1: Cut a fresh edge with the Greenworks 80V Attachment-Ready Edger.
✅ Step 2: Fade the edges using the Rotary Scissors Attachment.
✅ Step 3: Finish strong with the Greenworks 80V 730 CFM Blower to clear away every last clipping.

It's a simple routine, but the before and after speaks for itself. Clean edges instantly make your lawn look sharper, more defined, and well-maintained.

If you're chasing that professionally manicured look, don't skip the finishing details.

If you liked this one, wait until you see what I'm doing for Halloween. Follow along to see it come to life.

I thought I was just making a giant American flag in my driveway.

I was wrong.

Over the next two days, and more than five hours of drawing with chalk, something unexpected happened.

Neighbors I had never really spoken to stopped to say hello.
Cars slowed down.
People smiled.
My son grabbed some chalk and wanted to help.

For a little while, the driveway became more than concrete.

It became a place where conversations started.
Where memories were made.
Where strangers became neighbors.

It reminded me that the American flag has always represented more than stars and stripes. It's a symbol of the people standing beside us, the families, the communities, and the everyday moments that bring us together.

This flag isn't dedicated to one person.

It's dedicated to every American.

To those serving our country.
To those who came before us.
To those raising the next generation.
And to everyone who still believes that the best moments are the ones we create together.

May your celebrations be loud.
May your tables be full.
May your hearts be grateful.

And may we never lose sight of what unites us.

Happy Fourth of July. 🇺🇸 by @lifeisturf

“Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” — F. Scott Fitzgerald.

There's something about fall that makes you want to slow down, get outside, and make the most of the space you have.

For Life Is Turf, that means a new season of content.

As the Bermuda goes dormant, we're turning our attention to the bigger picture of backyard living: building things, improving outdoor spaces, firing up the grill, making pizza, and finding new ways to enjoy the place we've worked so hard to create.

The lawn is where it started. The backyard is where we're going.

Welcome to the next season of Life Is Turf.

Grout lines were looking rough, so I skipped the hand scrubbing and let the drill do the work. The bullet-shaped brush for the grout, detail brush for the corners. Done in half the time and my knees are happy. Clean anything in half the time.

Yardwork cravings hit different. 🥩🌱

Halfway through edging, mowing, and blowing, I’m not stopping for a full meal. That’s why I keep @righteousfelon jerky in my pocket. Big flavor, real protein, and zero time off the mower.

✅ Fuels you through the whole lawn
✅ Fits right in your pocket
✅ Way better than a gas station snack

Stripes don’t lay themselves down. Grab a bag and get back out there. 💪

Got my @surecanusa 2+gal transfer tank today. I’ll be setting up a few of these to create my fertilizer station next season. This will make the tank mixing a lot faster and cleaner🦾. I’ll be doing a lot more with their products so stay tuned! BTW this is a tank mix I use all the time, ratio approx 16-0-0 (2:1:1) mixes well in tank for storage and can be applied weekly up to 4/6 oz per week. I typically spray 2oz weekly with surfactant when I have granular fert on ground. 🦾 by @lifeisturf

I almost paid $20K too much for my patio.

700 sq ft. Two columns. Same stone in every bid. Here’s how the numbers shook out:

Contractor 1: $45K. Either too busy and pricing it to make it worth his time, or seeing a new homeowner and charging accordingly.
Contractor 2: $20K. The cheapest.
Contractor 3: $22K, plus a $3K walkway from the driveway he suggested on his own.

I didn’t go with the cheapest. Contractor 3 is former military, answered every call and text, and saw the project for what it could be. When a contractor suggests something you didn’t think of, he’s thinking about your space, not just the quote.

Price matters. But so do character, communication, and someone who actually gets the job.

Always get three bids. Then choose the person, not just the number.

What’s the biggest gap you’ve ever seen between quotes? 👇
