Shaking as I type: I was going to do this journey in silence, but my life motto is aspire to inspire. I’m always so vulnerable & proud to share online so why keep this to myself when I know there is so much value in sharing. Even when it’s terrifying & I might fail, I believe there’s so much power in not being afraid to put yourself out there & try. So here goes nothing. Ya’ll rallied around me & supported me when I froze my eggs & now I’m taking the next steps in that process. Outside of working 3 jobs, I have my photography business @capturedby_lexi & I’m officially working on getting back to what I love: creating content, posting on my blog & podcast, starting UGC & hoping it leads to something incredible that’ll provide a creative outlet & stability financially. I’m doing the #sadtosavageprogram that was created by @shelbysacco5 & I am SO excited! It’s more than just workouts, it incorporates habit building & nutrition as well! Got some good news yesterday! God’s hand in the details of this journey has been absolutely undeniable. There are still quite a few unknowns, not only with me needing to save up the amount that I do, but with a transfer & it being successful. Regardless of what the outcome may be, the amount of peace I feel shows me that trusting in God is all I need to do. 4+ years ago, in the thickness of my PTSD, I was blacking out & losing chunks of time daily from being triggered & disassociating. I could not live that way any more. I saw three ways out: Stop living, seek inpatient treatment or get a service dog. I’m so glad I decided to fight, I’m so glad I recognized my needs to get help & sought tools, I am SO grateful for Koa. He saved my life. Then shortly after getting him I was diagnosed with POTS so he’s now not only service trained for my PTSD but also as a cardiac alert dog too. Grateful those scary & unknown days of being paralyzed by triggers are long behind me, Koa played a huge factor in my continuous healing. Day 40 felt like a few punches to the gut. But I fully believe God is in the details every step of the way. Prayer keeps me going. Prayers for myself, my team of nurses & doctors, prayers for all of their patients & anyone who may be going through this journey, prayers for my friends that I know are currently enduring.
