“Crazy cat lady.” 🐈‍⬛

I was called this at work recently, and I challenged it.

Because why is “cat lady” acceptable, but adding “crazy” suddenly turns a woman’s love for animals into something to mock?

The stereotype has a much deeper, and much more gendered, history than a harmless joke. Women who don’t fit traditional expectations have been labelled strange, excessive or “crazy” for centuries and cats became part of that stereotype.

So yes, I’m a cat lady. Proudly. 🐾

But maybe it’s time we stopped using “crazy” as an insult.

We thought we’d do a little re-intro to everyone behind the account… it’s been a while since we last did a proper recap.

Just a couple of cat parents, living in a house that very much belongs to two cats, documenting the chaos as we go.

If you’re new here, hi. If you’ve been here a while, you already know how this goes 🤪

Thanks for sharing your ragdolls online, else we’d have never ended up with these fluffy gooses @ragdollatticus & @oliveandivy_ragdolls 🪿

Two types of cats when it comes to Licki Treats 😂

Maple: inhale it as fast as possible
Milo: savour every single lick

Same treat, completely different approaches, which one is your cat? 👀

The face Milo pulls when he realises the world doesn’t revolve around him allllll the time, however he is super cute so it kinda does revolve around him, so I guess he’s allowed to be shocked 🤪

Why does Maple look like she’s posing for her school photo? Surely they don’t have cat school…? 😂🐾

Just two cosy babies, completely unaware that their parents are off to Cat Show Live tomorrow 🥹🐾

If you’re there, make sure you come and say hello to Mum & Dad… and more importantly, encourage them to buy us things 😂🛍️🐱

We’ve obviously given them a very important shopping list, so we’ll be expecting a full haul when they get home 👀

If you spot them, please remind them that we are worth spoiling 🤭🤍
