I was lucky enough to be visiting NYC in 2017 when I was crossing the road only to be tapped on the shoulder by my family to get my attention and point to show me my idol from the age of 6 was in front of me being interviewed on the Today show.
I’ve never jumped and screamed with excitement in all my life.
For those that know me, they know I don’t get star struck for anyone with the exception of Dolly.
Aside from attending her concert, this is the closest I’ve come to her. The policeman that was moving people away that corner in order to keep the area clear somehow let me linger there while as I stared like a stunned mullet with the happiest smile on my face. I will be forever grateful for that moment.
It was one of the best days of my life and a memory that I will cherish forever.
Today is a very sad day because we lost a true and pure angel that walked this earth.
She will forever be our fairy godmother. I already miss her.
Rest in peace Dolly. I will always love you. 🦋💔
Please take a moment for @btkthefrenchie her beautiful frenchie who also lost his mama today. 🐾💔 by @lifeofnewfs

She gets so mad that she sprays her demands and beams her laser eyes at me. 👀
