🌀 SATURDAY OPERATIONAL UPDATE

📍 Georgia: Normal operations, except today’s Marietta mobile blood drive has been canceled.
📍 South Alabama: Operations are continuing as expected despite widespread power outages.
📍 Coastal areas: Downed trees and power outages remain. No damage to LifeSouth locations has been reported.

Conditions may continue to change. Check the link in our bio for the latest updates before heading out, and always put your safety first.

Project Little Veins (@_little.veins), an RWBHI program providing care packages to those in sickle cell treatment, was founded by Fredrianna Copeland-Webster, a sickle cell patient herself.

Sickle cell disease predominantly affects people of African descent, and Florida carries one of the heaviest sickle cell burdens in the country.

In partnership with @richardwbhi, our team is hosting a series of community blood drives starting tomorrow!

Drive locations and times:

University of North Florida, 1 UNF Dr., Jacksonville, FL 32224

We’re raising blood donations, sickle cell awareness, AND funding for the sickle cell community. If we get at least 15 donors tomorrow, we’ll receive a LifeSouth Community Grant to support sickle cell care packages and events! ❤️
