Last night I was cleaning out my phone and came across this voicemail my uncle left me 2 weeks before he passed. My uncle has always played an active role in my like, but him and I had gotten so much closer the years prior to his passing. At one point I was seeing and spending time time with him everyday. Im so thankful that I have so many memories/ conversations and moments to hold on to. When I think about it, I feel like God intentionally shifted things in my life at that time, to allow me to be present and to see him so often.

This voicemail is so healing when I hear it, because I get to hear his voice, I feel his presence, and I get to hear from his mouth how he felt my accomplishments, and just to hear him say that he loves me ❤️ this voicemail also breaks my soul because I think about what could have been, and the memories and accomplishments that I didn’t or won’t get share with him. The one thing I really grieve is that fact that he never got the chance to met my son. Ughhhh he would have loved East! East would have loved to take rides on his shoulders just like I did.

This week is the week of my uncles birthday, and this year I’m taking it pretty hard. There was so much I needed to say and so many things I wish we could do. Some things in life are just so unfair. But I find peace in knowing that you aren’t suffering anymore, and I pray that you are at peace. I just wish we had more time! ❤️🕊️ I love you! And I show my son your pictures all the time. He never had the chance to meet you but he will know you through me, and we will never forget you! Thank you for loving me and showing me all of the things that a man should be! You loved, provided and protected all of us until the day you left this earth! And I will never forget how safe you made me feel 😢❤️ by @lifewithleelee_
