Did you know Panamá is home to hundreds of islands? While I enjoyed the vibrant city vibes of Panama City, my heart truly belongs to island life and being near the ocean. Luckily, Panamá offers the perfect blend of both worlds.

During our visit, we did a day trip to the San Blas Islands, nestled off the Caribbean coast of Panamá. There are 365 islands that make up San Blas and the few that we visited did not disappoint. These islands are not only a tropical paradise but also home to the indigenous Guna people, who govern the area.

Despite our initial hesitation about the 3-hour drive + boat ride to get there, my passion for adventure and love for pristine beaches made the journey absolutely worthwhile.

Immersing myself in a country’s culture is always a highlight of my travels! Discovering this Afro-Panamanian Cooking Class on Airbnb Experiences was pure gold. Not only did we learn to cook incredible dishes, but we also connected with amazing people from different parts of the world. Our host, Dave, was an absolute gem whose passion for food and culture lit up the night. 🌟 With Dave’s ever-changing menus, I’m already dreaming of my next visit to Panama City!
