Happy Father’s Day to our favourite guy. ❤️

I saw this Father’s Day idea on Instagram from @light.by.elohor and knew right away that I wanted to do it for you.

I was so content just watching you watch it. Seeing your reaction reminded me that sometimes the simplest things mean the most. Not because of what they cost or how elaborate they are, but because they come from the heart.

Thank you for being such a steady presence in our lives. Thank you for loving me and the girls so well. Thank you for every sacrifice, every prayer, every encouragement, every "go for it, babe," and every way you carry this family.

You make us feel safe, supported, and deeply loved. And we never take that for granted.

We love you. We celebrate you. And we’re grateful to call you ours.

To my children, I am many things.

Some days, I’m a teacher.

A counselor.

And somehow, in between all of that, I still get to be Mom

Motherhood may not come with breaks or perfect moments, but the love behind it makes every role worth it.

Since my Instagram Live with Weyinmi last Friday @beyond_the_crisis, I haven’t stopped thinking about this…Friendship is responsibility.

And sometimes, love looks like going a little extra, maybe even more than is convenient.

Our conversation on faith, friendship, and sickle cell took me back to uni days with Weyinmi… how protective I could get. A bit much? Maybe. But I couldn’t have shown up any less.

Because real friendship isn’t passive.
It’s a trust. A quiet call to love loudly, to step in, to take responsibility when it matters most.

Sometimes, going all out is exactly what love requires.

Weyinmi and I went live on Instagram last Friday, and it was such a beautiful time with friends and everyone who joined us.

This video is a snippet from that conversation.

It reminded me that showing up is a language real friendship understands.

One thing life with my friend Weyinmi has taught me is this; crisis or no crisis, presence matters. Not the perfect words. Not the grand gestures. Just you, being there.

Because sometimes, the most honest way to love your friends is simply to show up.

Be intentional about it.
Don’t wait for the “right moment.”

My Kids Want a Dog, but I’m Not Ready

Getting a dog sounds cute, until you remember who will actually do the work.

My sister has a dog right now and the girls had been begging us for a dog. I am afraid to get a dog and be left with the work.

I have not even finished taking care of kids yet.
Also the responsibility with getting a dog in Canada is not even a joke!

There was a time the question, “What do you do now?” felt really heavy. Because my life didn’t fit into one neat answer.

I just didn’t seem to have things put together. But I was becoming, and things got clearer along the way.

And slowly, I learned this, you are not the sum of your what you do. You are who God says you are. You are a King’s kid.

Have you ever struggled with that question like I did?

Another Friday…
she leaves the house looking all cute in her nice leggings.

Hole in the knee 😭

And sometimes the leggings are almost new.

At this point, it’s not the kids… it’s the quality.

Please tell me I’m not the only mom in Canada dealing with this?

I’ve known Weyinmi for over 20 years, and honestly, that’s putting it lightly.

She’s my childhood friend, and from as far back as I can remember, I’ve known she’s a sickle cell warrior. I think I first heard about it from her mom, and over the years, I’ve watched her carry it with so much strength.

Recently, she started a page (@beyond_the_crisis), and through it, I’ve been learning even more. Simple but important things, like understanding that a sickle cell carrier shouldn’t be called a “sickler.” There’s so much many of us don’t know.

So on the 17th, we’re going LIVE @beyond_the_crisis

We’ll be talking about faith, friendship, and sickle cell, real conversations, real stories.

Expect laughter. Expect honesty. Expect to learn.

I’m starting to think my family should seriously review my application to become a full time stay-at-home mum 😄

This easter weekend? It was full. The kind of full that leaves your feet tired but your heart smiling. Between the laughter, the little moments, and yes, a whole lot of cooking and eating, I truly lived in it.

And speaking of food, you might want to take a peek at @saucesandgrills Let’s just say, if you love good Nigerian meals, you’re in for a treat 😉

All in all, it was a good weekend. Thank you @nkechi_machi for coming, it was a great start to my weekend.
