I hope I never become so consumed by the life I’m trying to build that I forget the privilege of simply being alive. Of having legs that carry me across mountains, lungs that fill with mountain air, and eyes that get to witness a world so beautiful it makes me feel small.

One day, this body will take its final steps, and these eyes will witness their last sunset. Until then, I hope I never take for granted the extraordinary gift of being here to experience it all. by @lifewithterr_

what a peculiar thing, to be alive for such a little while, and to have enough room in your heart for a million things you can never keep.

i hope i never become so afraid of losing things that i forget to love them while they’re here.

i want a life that makes me feel everything. muddy boots, long drives, people who feel like home, places that take my breath away, and a heart that never learns to love any less.

the hardest part of having a heart that loves without hesitation is knowing it will hurt without hesitation, too. still, i refuse to let the fear of pain decide how much life i get to live.

if it costs me a little heartbreak to have loved this deeply, then let me pay it. i want to know what it means to have really lived.

“you can outgrow a life you once begged for and still be grateful you got to live it.”

i hope the people i love never have to wonder if i love them. i hope i say it, show it, make the drive, take the picture, remember the details, and never assume there will always be another chance.

so here’s to loving people, leaving places better than we found them, taking the risk, making the drive, watching the sunset, and being brave enough to begin again. here’s to knowing it won’t all be easy and deciding that doesn’t make it any less worth it.

i can’t promise myself that the people i love will stay, that every risk will pay off, or that every chapter will end the way i imagined. all i can promise is that fear won’t be the reason i never tried.

i’ve realised that the things that make life beautiful are also the things that make it hard. caring means you can be disappointed. trying means you can fail. letting people in means they can hurt you. but avoiding all of that means missing out on so much, too. i’m trying to get better at accepting that both things can be true. by @lifewithterr_
