Ladies and gentlemen, he’s eight years young. (And his mama is unwell 🥹😂😭) My little stud. My miracle, my rainbow baby. Even before he was born, God has his hand on my little boy’s life. He shouldn’t have made it earth side, but God’s promise to us did not waver. William made it to “full term” just like God promised. I will forever give thanks for that.

⚾️ Will is the epitome of sweetness, whilst also being the biggest punk. He’s a protector of his sisters, really freaking good at baseball 😂, and his drawing abilities are quite impressive. I love the way he comes up and gives me and Chris back rubs when we’ve had a long day, or just because he wants to be kind. (Just like his uncle Nick) I love the way he watches out for all the little nieces and nephews and lets them jump on him or wrestle him. His attachment to his Uncle Jay is so special. His heart is so big for such a young kid and I love to see the way Jesus shines through him. I love the way he sings Relient K and Twenty One Pilots with me and that he knows how to properly head bang. 😂 I can’t wait to see who he becomes, but for now, I’m perfectly content with him staying my little boy 🥰 Happy birthday kid!! 🤍⚾️ taken in Connecticut by @lifewithvaranelli

To the man who always makes me laugh, roll my eyes, and let me dream big, happy birthday! Our family is so blessed to have you in it. Can’t imagine a single day without you. 2 years 💔 I’ll never forget hearing the sounds of all your monitors beeping, grabbing your hand, eyes full of tears, as all the drs and nurses rushed in saying “This is it! Come say goodbye.” I told you I loved you a million times, that you were going to see Jesus and it was going to be amazing. I said that you did it! You finished the race and you were going into the shared glory of Jesus. No more cancer, no more brain tumors, no more chemo, no more doctors. That we would take care of Caity and Rae and Zach. And in case I hadn’t said it enough, I told you I loved you.
I haven’t stopped loving you since. This pain that we carry with your absence is still gut wrenching. The people that say “time heals all wounds..” clearly never met you because they’d understand that time doesn’t do squat for losing someone like you. It doesn’t make sense to even write this post, because it still doesn’t feel real that you’re gone.

Family dinners aren’t the same, concerts aren’t the same, sibling nights aren’t the same, random Tuesday nights aren’t the same, taking photos isn’t the same, life isn’t the same without you, Nick. We freaking miss you and it hurts. I shared these photos because they were mundane at the time, now they’re priceless. But each photo shows that I was right next to you and that will forever be my favorite place to be.
What I know is that despite the pain, grief, and sorrow, that our joy can co-exist because we have Jesus. The same God who holds you right now is holding us, too. The gap between now and Heaven feels like an eternity and I hate it. But I know God’s not finished with us yet and there’s more work to be done. God is faithful and mighty and we will follow him until He calls us home, too. If it wasn’t for Jesus, I wouldn’t have hope on this earth after experiencing your death. I’m thankful for the nearness of the Lord when we cry, I’m grateful for my husband, siblings, parents, and in-laws who walk through this with us, and I’m thankful for the way God has been patient and kind as I come to him with my doubts & grief. He is still good and I will praise him all of my days. I love you, Nick. I miss you every single day. 😭🤍 by @lifewithvaranelli
