It was fun photographing the amazing ladies at @takethebackbjj women's no-gi yesterday. Here's a few of @jitsunicorn & her training partners! I'm a little rusty behind the camera but it was fun to flex that muscle a bit. Thank you for the edits Professor @solangereyner and always thank you for the quality classes that you offer!!♡

2026 IBJJF World Masters & Jiu-Jitsu Con Kids Gi & No-Gi:

Tristan competed in his fourth World Masters as an M3 Brown Belt. His first match was a win by walkover after his opponent didn't show. His second match was against a very talented opponent who trains at one of the best Jiu-Jitsu programs in the world.

The match ended 0–0, with his opponent receiving three advantages. While not the outcome he trained for Tristan had a solid preformace but in this game of centimeters he came up short.

Micah competed at her second Jiu-Jitsu Con as a 15-year-old green belt. No one signed up for her division, so instead of sitting it out, she challenged herself to move up a weight class.

At 128 lbs in a gi, she's on the smaller side for her current division but she stepped into the 143 lb gi bracket and 138 lb no-gi bracket.

Overall, Micah had three dominant performances.

She earned her first IBJJF win by submission and handled that victory with humility and grace. But honestly, what I'm most proud of is how she handled the moments when the calls didn't go her way.

She kept her composure. She stayed respectful. And she held her head high.

That's the kind of victory that matters to us.

We are so incredibly thankful for the support we've received on and off the mats this past year.

To everyone who donated to buy one of Micah's stickers, welcomed us to cross train at their gym, trained extra rounds after class, supported us from the sidelines, watched her matches online, sent encouraging notes, coached, or cheered—THANK YOU.

We see you. We appreciate you. We are so thankful for this beautiful community of ours.

This year has been a tough one, with the profound losses of Jerron and Professor Lindsey. They are so deeply missed! But, we will continue to do our best to honor their memories.

"Make them remember who you are."
-Prof. Lindsey Johnson

I can truly say they both did exactly that.

Now we refine, recalibrate, and keep growing.

Onward we go.

2026 Jiu-Jitsu Con- Las Vegas, NV

Just over a year ago, I competed at my first IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Con as an 14 year old orange belt. Since then, I’ve been pushing myself out of my comfort zone and getting as much competition experience as I can.

Yesterday in no-gi, I felt really good about my performance and was able to dominate most of the match, but I ended up losing by an advantage. I was definitely looking for some redemption today 😤

I got a submission win in my first match and made it to the finals, but came up short.

I’m really proud of the work I’ve put in especially over the past two years. I have a LOT of data to work with and things to improve, so it’s back to work.

Thank you to everyone who supports me on and off the mats. I appreciate you guys more than you know. 💚

Back to work. 🦄🔥

Just over 900 days ago, I started jiu-jitsu. Just thought that was pretty cool.

I've mentioned before that I'd wished that I started sooner but I'm grateful that I started when I did. I'm even more grateful that I get to keep learning and growing alongside my favorite people.
It's never to late to learn new things!

Thanks for the reminder @heather_morgenbjj ♡

Onward.🙏🏽✨️

Today didn't go the way I hoped.

I competed at my first IBJJF American National Championship and went 0-3 against some really experienced competitors.

It definitely wasn't the outcome I wanted, but I learned a lot from every match.

Now it's back to the mats to keep learning, improving, and getting ready for the next one.

The journey continues.

On the bright side... I did come home with some participation hardware. 😅

(Also, the last slide.🤣)

Tristan & Micah are headed to @ibjjf American Nationals this week.

Since both of them have food intolerances (especially Micah being gluten-free), comp meal prep takes extra planning. Thankfully, we have access to amazing farm-fresh food, and taking a cooler on a flight turned out to be much easier than we expected. (Just be sure to check the TSA guidelines before you travel!)

Micah will be competing in Kids Gi and No-Gi on Saturday, and Tristan steps onto the mats for Gi tomorrow.

Looking forward to cheering them on.♡
