Ireland!! 🇮🇪

Stayed in Dublin, Ireland for 3 nights this weekend! The city itself is so cute, not only with pubs everywhere you turn, but there’s sooo much greenery. Which was refreshing to see in a city!! We walked around and saw Trinity College, Love Lane, St. Stephen’s Shopping Centre and Park, the flower stands, and then visited the famous Temple Bar at night! Everything was a vibe and I overall liked it a lot. On Saturday, we took a day trip to the Cliffs of Moher. We made a few stops at little villages on the way there and back, but the Cliffs themselves were the star of the show. Absolutely beautiful and nothing like I’d ever seen before!! From the East Coast to the West Coast of Ireland and back all in one day is crazyyy but definitely the highlight of the trip. We got SOOO lucky with weather as well, couldn’t have been more beautiful!!! We also got a kick out of the Irish accents and loved how everything was in English😅😅 Loved Ireland overall though!!! 🤍💚 taken in Dublin, Ireland by @lifewlydiaaa

Rest of the week in Rome & Milan, Italy! 🇮🇹

After Florence, we headed to Rome to spend a few nights. We saw all the things: the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Coliseum, parts of the Roman Forum, and more. We took a tour of the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel and also visited St. Peter’s Basilica. We walked around in the neighborhood of Trastevere which was cute, and went up the Holy Steps on my knees. Ate some more good food and did a little shopping too. We tried to take it a little slower since we have been nonstop on the go this past week. Rome is full of history and I really enjoyed it!! We flew out of Milan, so we had one day to explore here and just walked around, saw some of the iconic Milan spots, and rested a little more. Overall great trip but I am in desperate need of a 24 hour nap 😴 😴 taken in Rome, Italy by @lifewlydiaaa

Vatican City!! 🇻🇦

One of my favorite parts of Rome was Vatican City (another country to add to the list!) On Thursday, we did a guided tour of the Vatican museums and the Sistine Chapel, however Pope Leo was putting on a special service in St. Peter’s Basilica, so no visitors were allowed to enter unfortunately. We walked around the Square and did see the Basilica lit up! I listened to a little bit of Pope Leo’s homily on the big screens they have in the Square too! We then woke up early Friday morning and visited the Basilica. It was absolutely beautiful, and to make it even better, I had the opportunity to go to confession here. This was a really special trip for me and I am so so grateful that I was able to make it here. The history of this country is so incredibly rich!!! by @lifewlydiaaa

Study tour in Florence, Italy! 🇮🇹

The past 5 days, we have been on our architecture study tour in Italy! Florence is beautiful, and the architecture is amazing here too. We visited lots of different buildings, cathedrals, museums, gardens, and more. I would name all of them but you’d get bored lol. I learned a lot about the history behind these monuments and it was a very educational trip overall! While visiting all these buildings, we were required to sketch some for credit and safe to say I loved it. It was so enjoyable to sit and sketch the little details that you wouldn’t initially recognize unless you were studying the architecture of it! We took a day trip to the Tuscan region, where we visited San Gimignano and Siena. I really loved both of those little towns, they really gave the vibes of what I expected from Italy. I had lots of amazingggg food and drinks and also did lots of shopping 😆 One of my favorite parts was ending the trip with watching the sunset over the whole city, it was beautiful🥹 I ❤️ FIRENZE!! But now time for Rome! taken in Florence, Italy by @lifewlydiaaa

The weekend of my dreams —

Contrary to my parent’s knowledge, I went on my first solo trip!!! (Sorry Mom) and it was unreal. First off, I went skydiving!!! A bucket list item and free-falling from 13,000 feet high in the Swiss Alps was insane. I stayed in Interlaken one night and took the cable car up to Harder Kulm, then hiked from there to Roteflue. It was a tough hike to say the least, but the views of Lake Brienze and the city of Interlaken were worth it. I then trained over to Grindelwald, where I stayed two nights. Grindelwald was just so charming and beautiful, with stunning sunsets. I took the gondola to First, where I then hiked to Lake Balchepsee and partway to Faulhorn. This hike quite literally left me speechless. I took more than a few pit stops to just sit and admire. On Sunday, I took a train to Lauterbrunnen and went to mass in Mürren before my train ride back to Luxembourg. Lauterbrunnen was cute but Murren was just sooo adorable. The views from here were insane and I would recommend to anybody. And the train ride from Grutschalp to Murren was absolutely incredible!!

Safe to say traveling solo was one of the best things I’ve done abroad so far, and I will forever be thinking about this weekend. Anyone reading this needs to start saving for a Switzerland trip right now tbh. I could talk about this trip for days upon days but I’ll leave it at this. I will be back someday!!!! 🇨🇭⛰️❤️ taken in Grindelwald, Switzerland by @lifewlydiaaa

The rest of Munich, Germany!

We didn’t have a ton of time to walk around the city due to our focus being Oktoberfest, but what we did see was beautiful. The people were very friendly, the architecture was amazing, and there were so many different cultures of people which was fun to people watch! The central area was very charming, plus a church to look at every which way, and the interiors of these churches were incredible. We took the metro system to and from our hotel and to different parts of the city and that was a bit confusing at first, but we figured it out. I really liked Munich and am happy with what we all saw! I wish we had more time to go outside the city and see some more but maybe that’s a next-time thing :) taken in München, Germany by @lifewlydiaaa

Oktoberfest!!!! 🇩🇪🥨🍻

Wow this day was so surreal. I’ve always dreamed about going to the “real Oktoberfest” in Munich and I am so pleased with my experience. We got up early, got a table in the Hofbrau tent, got some good beer (as someone who doesn’t drink beer, I’m not lying when I say it was good), danced to the German music, got interviewed by the Associated Press?? (Look it up), wore the cutest Bavarian dirndls 🤭 and ate AMAZING food. I had a pretzel, bratwurst, and schnitzel, really leaning into the traditional Bavarian cuisine (everything was sooo good). I also got to meet up with some Minster people at the Oktoberfest, which made my heart so happy. Having a little taste of home almost 4000 miles from Minster couldn’t have been better. We sat at a pub later at night and made some friends as well! I will say that of all the weekends, we definitely had the most strangers come up and talk to us in Munich! It was fun talking to new people and getting to hear about where they’re from and things of that sort. Now I can say I have been to the ‘real’ Oktoberfest, and had an amazing experience while there!! ❤️ taken in Oktoberfest by @lifewlydiaaa

Amsterdam, Netherlands!! 🇳🇱

I am very happy I got to experience this city, however I’m not sure if I will be back! There were bikes and bikers everywhere, which is a bit different than other cities, so we had to keep an eye out lol. We went to the Anne Frank House, which was super interesting to me, and then pretty much roamed the streets and shopped the rest of the afternoon. I went to mass in the most ornamented church I’ve ever been in, but the mass was in English so that was super nice! We got some good dinner and went on a canal cruise at night, which was beautiful to see the city from a different perspective. Definitely a more chill weekend but still enjoyable and another great close trip :) 🥂 taken in Amsterdam, Netherlands by @lifewlydiaaa

Croatia 🇭🇷!!!

We spent this weekend in Okrug Gornji, Croatia and it was amazing to say the least. We got in late Friday night, then had a long boat day on Saturday where we had three island stops and everywhere was BEAUTIFUL. The water was sooo clear and fun to swim in (escpecially the blue lagoon) We took the day Sunday to chill and hang out in the sun, then made a little family dinner! 🍽️ We had such a great group to spend time with and the weekend consisted of lots of games of Cheers to the governor 🥂 I think this is the only beach trip I have scheduled, so I will be reminiscing on this for a little while. Ugh loved this weekend so so much🙈🙈🙈 by @lifewlydiaaa

Short weekend in Bruges, Belgium! 🇧🇪

Our first weekend trip of the semester was quite literally a dream. Bruges, Belgium completely exceeded my expectations and was so so impressive. All of the architecture was beautiful. We climbed the 366 steps to the top of the Belfry to see the whole city from above, got the famous Belgium waffles, went on a canal boat tour, explored the Saturday markets, and more. I also got to visit the chocolate store that I based one of my recent school projects off of which was so cool to me🙈 Bruges was also extremely walkable and we ran into so many other Miami students which was fun! It seriously felt like a fairytale everywhere you walked. Excited for upcoming trips! 🤸🤸 by @lifewlydiaaa
