From figuring it all out to now sitting in a room with people who are ready to figure it out too. 🥹

My VA journey hasn’t been perfect. There have been moments of doubt, lessons I had to learn the hard way, small wins that felt HUGE, and plenty of times I had to remind myself why I started.

And now, I get to share what I’ve learned in person. 🤍

This physical class is more than just a meeting. It’s a chance to connect, learn, ask the questions you’ve been scared to ask, and get a clearer picture of what building a career as a VA can actually look like.

If you’ve been following my journey, this is your chance to be part of the next chapter.

We’re meeting in person. 🥂 by @light_martinss

Finally!!!! It is August 3rd and I am so excited because what came to me as an idea has finally materialized. 🎓🎉
I am proud of myself I must say because I believed in myself for once and it became reality. I put every anxiety aside, every other negative voice aside. I didn’t even overthink the process. I just executed and I am here today launching my academy.
What excites me even more is that former Light would have thought this was impossible. But I put my overthinking aside, I put my anxiety aside and I just put myself out there.
Coreguide Academy is built with every university student and fresh graduate in mind. We are training you with a career skill while you are still young so you won’t have to struggle after school.

COREGUIDE COHORT 3 IS COMING 😭🔥

But before we get too deep into the campaign, I want to ask you something.

The full training is ₦20,000 and I want to know honestly:

Does the price feel affordable for a practical 1-month digital skills programme?

Vote honestly. No hard feelings 😂

Yesterday, I attended a Dev Day event in Jos and honestly… I had FUN. 😂

We came with our laptops and actually built things using GitHub Copilot.

A To-Do List app? Normal.
An EXCUSE GENERATOR?! 😭😂

I still don’t understand why we needed that one, but watching an idea go from “let’s build this” to an actual working app was SO COOL.

I also got to ask questions about the Coreguide VA Simulator, which was a big win for me.

And it reminded me of something:

Learning is cool. But building is different.

At some point, close the tutorial and try something.

That’s exactly what we’re pushing at Coreguide:

Learn → Practise → Make mistakes → Try again → Build.

Now… who needs an excuse generator? 😂
Thank you @stee_brand for hosting this amazing event I loved it 🥰 taken in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria by @light_martinss

Today I attended a wedding.

But I wasn’t just there to eat, take pictures and dance. 😂

I was working as an Event Management VA.

And it reminded me of something:

We often look at an event and only see the beautiful part.

The decorations.
The food.
The music.
The bride and groom.

But behind all of that is a whole lot of coordination.

Vendor follow-ups.
Schedules.
Timelines.
Guest information.
Last-minute changes.
Making sure everyone knows what they’re supposed to be doing.

And someone has to keep track of all of it.

That can be a VA.

You don’t have to be the MC.
You don’t have to decorate the venue.
You don’t even have to be physically present for every part of the planning.

You can support an event planner remotely and get paid for helping keep the moving parts organised.

And honestly, this is why I love teaching VA skills.

Because once you understand the problem you’re solving, you stop looking at VA work as just “finding a remote job.”

You start seeing services you can actually sell.

And yes, there are plenty of event planners in Jos who could use this kind of support.

I really want to see more young people in Jos realise that remote work is not a Lagos-only opportunity.

You don’t need to relocate before you can learn a digital skill, practise it, work with businesses and start building your career.

That’s a big part of why I created Coreguide Academy.

And this November, we’re taking it a step further.

50 young people.
One month of practical training.
Simulated client experience.
A physical closing event in Jos.

We’re not just talking about digital opportunities.

We’re building for them.

Coreguide Academy Cohort 3.

Jos, let’s do this.

A hospital doesn’t only need doctors and nurses.

There’s also the administrative work happening behind the scenes that keeps things moving.

Appointments.
Scheduling.
Rescheduling.
Patient enquiries.
Reminders.
Follow-ups.

And someone has to handle all of that.

That’s where a Medical Appointment Setter VA can come in.

You don’t need to be a doctor.

You need to understand the process, communicate properly, stay organised and help the healthcare business manage its appointments effectively.

And this is why I keep saying:

Don’t just learn “VA skills.” Learn skills that solve actual business problems.

Because when you can solve a problem, you have something you can actually sell.

And yes, there are healthcare businesses right here in Jos that have administrative work that can be handled with the right systems and skills.

This is the kind of thinking we’re bringing into Coreguide Academy Cohort 3.
