THIS SUNDAY we’re meeting at our beautiful building in Bankers Hill at 10am to pray and worship together.

Children are welcome to join us for this in the sanctuary! As there’s no Young Light, we ask that all parents keep an eye on their children and take responsibility for them during our gathering.

Since it’s an active construction site we also suggest wearing closed toe shoes.

We can’t wait to pursue the Lord together in this sacred space we’ll call call home in just a few months! We love you, Light ✨ by @lightdowntown

On Sunday, we were so blessed by our dear friend @tebompanza —

As he led us through John 10:1-11, he reminded us that the leadership of the Lord is perfect — worthy of all our trust.

Jesus is our Good Shepherd who calls us by name, goes before us, and leads us into everlasting life.

The love of His Lordship reaches every place within our hearts and moves us toward the freedom He has won for us!

We had such a precious time encountering the One who laid down His life for us. It’s a miracle everytime — a joy like nothing else!

Thank you, Jesus that we can surrender to You afresh. Thank you, Jesus for the way You speak to us.
Thank you, Jesus for the way You love and lead us!

Youth Downtown have started hanging out once a month, and it’s been the most wonderful thing ever! We have the best group of teenagers in the city, and it’s so special watching them grow in friendship with Jesus and each other.

Thank you to our incredible youth leaders and families for making these evenings possible! Charcuterie boards, hangs and worship — pretty dreamy.

For those of you who couldn’t make it this time, don’t worry — we’ve got next month on the books!

Until then, we can’t wait to see you on Sundays during the service.

Whenever we see true beauty, it's a window into the reality of heaven. 🌅

Pastors Benji + Jen Horning of Light Church in Encinitas, CA, felt called to partner with God to plant a church centered on beauty and on being the artist. ✝️

Through Foursquare Multiply, pastors like Benji + Jen are being empowered and equipped to foster the communities God is calling each of them to form uniquely. ⛪️

This week, our staff team took a trip to our building on 6th and Fir. It was such a gift to witness the progress taking place in Bankers Hill! Watching each detail come to life fills us with great joy as we imagine the future God has for us in the city.

What once lived in our hearts is slowly becoming the sanctuary we envisioned—a place for people to gather, encounter Jesus, find community and be sent back into our city to minister His love.

We’re so thankful for every person who is—and will be—joined together here, becoming a dwelling place where God lives among us.

As this building is restored, we’re submitting it all to God’s redemptive purposes that will bless generations to come.

If you’d like to give toward this vision for the people of San Diego, you can do so through our website. Every gift is treasured beyond measure!

“This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You’re no longer strangers or outsiders. You belong here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what He is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now He’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.”
