Color Wheels 🟣 Light Art

✨ From the lenticular printed cards to working with international lighting designers, Alessandra Strimirovic and Athabaskan’s Danilo on the visual experience called Color Wheels - @targettius showed up at @archlightsummit this past summer.

🟣This work of art generates numerous unexpected chromatic effects that offer insights into the sensory and perceptive aspects of both light and color.

🔵 The visual experience is stimulated by creating successive brightness, hue and saturation of hierarchies that are reflected in each circle.

🟢 The perceptual process is activated by the attempt to investigate color harmonies and analogies.

🔴 This mesmerizing installation of three luminous wheels was created with tar jetty Duratape RGBW strip product by Duralamp, and was designed exclusively for Targetti.

The ALA welcome reception turned into a rodeo reunion. 🎱⛳️🎳

@ALA.members sure know how to honky tonk when a mechanical bull is present. We gathered, laughed, cheered to highs and lows, but mainly we basked in the friendships forged over many years, thanks to the lighting industry.

Grateful is the word that comes to mind when we finally get to reunite. “These are my people.”

Want to learn more about lighting for complex ceilings? 💡✨💪

While at the American lighting association Conference in Austin, ATX I had the privilege of learning from Peter Romaniello of Conceptual Lighting.

These are 5 Things I learned to advance your lighting design game when lighting complex ceiling with cove lighting features.

1. Distance is critically important
2. Determine whether you’re lighting for performance or for accent
3. Not all LED strips are created equal
4. Always consider lenses, extrusions, and lumen output
5. A double set of cove lighting is your friend whenever possible

✨ David Shares a recent project called the Kaleidoscope Project for #BIPOC Designers

🔸The Kaleidoscope Project is a Designer Show-house venture to showcase the diverse talent within our creative design industry. The mission: to amplify the voices of those who rarely, if ever, have been given an opportunity to be heard. The project seeks to show the true colors present within our community and create welcoming and inclusive spaces that reflect a broader design narrative.

🌈The Kaleidoscope Project help funds future events and provide scholarships for the young Black and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) studying in the Design disciplines.

🔸The next big event and project will be a firehouse that was built in 1906, reimagined into 4 residential units, designed by 4 BIPOC designers/design teams.

✨The LIGHT ERA Interview Series releases Episode 3 “A Beacon of Light” with David Santiago.

What a gift it is to be in his presence. David is a total vibe of positivity, creativity, and great style 💯 with a heart of gold 💛

Here are a few of my favorite things I learned about David Santiago from the interview:

✨ now he also owns and runs @Hospidential
