Let me tell you something…Steve Harvey talks about chasing the dream that keeps you up at night..the thing you feel called to do. My dream wasn’t to become a fashion designer. My dream was to help people. That dream started with GuidedLight. I wanted to be a resource for the community and offer free mental health support to people who needed it. But to keep services and programs like Lighthouse going, I needed to raise funds. So I started making T-shirts. I thought I was just creating a way to support the work. I didn’t know God was also waking up the artist in me—and that those T-shirts would grow into LightFlex, a social impact brand and a whole new beast. Then came September 28, 2025: the first time LightFlex ever stepped onto a runway. But getting there? That’s where the story gets good. I had reached out to Philadelphia Christian Fashion Week before…and they turned me down. I thought that was the end of it. It wasn’t. Later, one of the children’s designers dropped out, and they needed someone to fill the spot. The owner felt led to give me a chance. There was just one little detail: I didn’t have a children’s line. So I created one for the show. And that’s how Young Flame made its debut. What began with a heart to serve the community became a runway moment I’ll never forget. To the owner.. now one of my closest friends and a mentor in this industry.. thank you for opening that door and continuing to pour into me. I’m grateful to Philadelphia Christian Fashion Week and most of all, to God for growing this work in ways I never imagined. The dream was always to help people.
