Having missed Phantom of the Opera on Broadway by mere months, I was excited when @masqueradenyc was announced.

Today, I was finally able to go via their Lotto 666, and I am so glad that I did! This production is a masterclass in immersive theater. The staging is clever, the performers are incredibly talented, and there are some fun surprises that really sell the world of the show. I also have to give a huge shout-out to the production team, butlers, front of house, etc who help keep the show running smoothly given all of the variables they're dealing with!

I don't know if I would go again as I found some of the scenes a bit overstimulating, but I understand now why people do.

6.28.26.

What a day! I woke up just after 4 AM to head to the Lunt-Fontanne for @deathbecomesher rush. It was the final show and I needed to be there!

I arrived at the theater at 6:30 AM and waited a whopping 5.5 hours for the box office to open at noon. They ran out of rush tickets before I got to the window so I purchased a standing room (SRO) ticket for $40.

I then headed to AMC Times Square and got a ticket to see @supergirl at 12:15 because I needed to rest my legs before the show. The movie ended shortly before 2:30, giving me just enough time to head back to the Lunt-Fontanne for the show...and what a show it was! Full of energy, magic, and of course, laughs. I hadn't seen the show in a while and I really enjoyed reliving my favorite lines and scenes.

Stage door was packed (naturally) but everyone was so sweet about making sure that no one missed out on an autograph, which was wonderful to see. I was lucky enough to receive one of the postcards Michelle Williams handed out with her signature, too.

Can't believe I got to meet the award-winning @thereal_hwaboon from @maybehappyending at the Broadway Pride block party today!

Hwaboon was so nice when I asked for a picture, too. Not at all the diva I had been expecting!

FINALLY visited the Moulin Rouge tonight, with a great seat thanks to @audiencerewards. 🙌🏾 What a spectacle!

Storytime: I was originally supposed to see this show on June 3rd, 2025. Exactly one year ago today. However, I had actually meant to buy my ticket for the week after since I was prepping for a big work event, and didn't even realize I'd bought the wrong date until I got the post-show email.

Having finally seen the show, I wish I'd gone last year, but with the show closing in August, I'm glad I made sure to squeeze it in.

5.30.26: EPIC theater and thrifting day in New York City!

1. Left my apartment at 7 AM to rush @stonbroadway and was first on line at 7:40 AM. The ticket wasn't for me but I love watching the theater district slowly come to life in the morning 🫶🏾

2. Walked to the Salvation Army in Hell's Kitchen and found a cute dress that was 50% off! (No pics...yet.)

3. Walked to Columbus Circle to get some steps in, then took the 1 to 72nd and walked over to Central Park and the Delacorte for @publictheaterny's summer kickoff event. Got lots of great freebies, including gelato from @venchi_usa and free popcorn which came in handy later 😋

4. Next I walked down the UWS and popped into the Housing Works thrift store to kill a little time before heading to the Lincoln Square AMC for a free screening of Power Ballad, a new film with Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas. This was a great way to rest my feet for a while after so much standing and walking.

5. At this point, the obvious thing to do would be to go home, but instead I hopped on more trains and took myself down to The Public to try my luck at a special Girl, Interrupted standby line. I think I was the last person picked and for that I am very grateful. The show is beautiful 💜

A little over 15 hours and about 20,000 steps later, I am finally home and ready to crash. I'll probably make a video or another post because I still have so much I want to say about this wild and wonderful day! by @lights_camera_anjali

Went back to Skid Row tonight, and the cast was terrific! I loved finally getting to see Jordan Fisher live, and Nikki M. James is always a treat. Claybourne Elder was delightful as Orin Scrivello and an assortment of other characters, too.

Went back for round 5 of my comfort show after a very long absence. This was my first time seeing it since the cast changeover and I loved their energy. I won the lottery for a second row seat and my view was great, but I do think the third row is slightly better.

Someone in the front row was dressed as Hester Legatt and Julia Knitel winked at them after the opening number. The person next to me was wearing the "I was born to find trout" hat. I noticed so many things that I had never noticed during my first four viewings. I love this fandom. I love this show. The end.

I ran a 5k today! My main goal was to run more than I walked, and I was successful at that. I soundly beat my time from 2022 by at least 10 minutes (I don't remember the exact time but it was closer to an hour).
