It’s been a whole week and I am still speechless!!!

Family members!!! EMBRACE IS LIVE!!!

I’m yet to gather my emotions or thoughts to type or even make a post!

The summary is “He makes all things beautiful in his time”!

God is kind!!!

It took 2 years but God did!

I’ve Spent the last one week in 3 different states moving up and about Nigeria 😂, because I’m an Engineer by day and a Fashion designer by night and every other moment in between! Spent my nights in the office at different intervals for two weeks plus because we were drilling and the day time was spent sewing at home, I definitely had the worst eye bags and most aching back!

I never thought this collection was going to ever come to life🥹, with all the thoughts that went on in my head!

God is Kind!!!

Came back from 400 Level IT and I told my project Supervisors that I only had one goal and that was for my project work to be published as an academic paper!

I became Passionate about sustainability after I learned that the Oil industry was the first most polluting industry in the world, followed by the fashion industry. You can imagine my shock finding that the two industries I was most involved in were polluting the earth and causing large scale concerns!

I worked on this with all my heart and under 2 weeks. I didn’t have the luxury of time my mates had as I’d gone for Hult prize in Kenya when others were working, that already was enough to make me change my topic or the scope of my work.

I stayed late nights, spent my Saturdays and Sundays in the lab, ran back to my hall at 8:55pm so I won’t get locked out after 9. Running from Petroleum engineering building to Dorcas hall in 5 minutes was a skill I had to develop during that period of time.

Glad to say that after over 20 drilling mud (WBM) samples and late nights, my goal was achieved.

Special thanks to my course mates, Chidinma Ogonna, Grace Kolade, Victor Oki, Temitope, Derrick, Michael, Philip and many others who helped me through the journey.

Thanks to the Chemical Engineering department for lending me their oven which I almost burnt with my first set of bones.

Thanks to my Lecturers, Professor Orodu, Dr Dike, Dr Sanmi, Mr Daramola, Mrs Deborah and every other important person that stood by me to see I achieved my goal.

Thank you to @covenantuniversityota for Sponsoring the publishing of this paper, and giving I and my co-authors the platform to shine.

Throw back to @breezenergyofficial Office Space Soft launch party .

I got pictures, so I’m not hoardingggg…

Super grateful to God for a bigger space to execute and deliver the best energy solutions to our clients.

It was a great time meeting and interacting with the amazing people that came to celebrate with us.

A lot of whom inspire me greatly like Mr Nosa Omorodion (Country Manager SLB), Mr Dapo Filani (CEO Waltersmith), Mr Kalio Greenson @kiko_sicario (My Egbon in Geology) and many other beautiful people.

Grateful for my colleagues, my Oga @s30n_ and the Best Chief Executive ever Mr Sawyer, @jollofmaster for the privilege.

Have you ever struggled with having to satisfy your customers while also putting yourself in trouble because they wanted you to duplicate a design they saw somewhere?

In my little experience, I’d say that nothing beats authenticity and being firm about it. It’s easy to duplicate another persons work, but have you thought of that may be affecting your own level of creativity?

Being in the business of design means that your customers don’t just pay for a random clothe, but the authenticity and exclusivity of the design. Beyond this is money you may lose if the customer isn’t satisfied.

30 days and I still can’t find the perfect words to celebrate you.

I think of how you care, how you teach us, how you love us, how you correct us, how you go all out to provide and protect us, with so much intentionality and all that comes to mind is how privileged & loved by God we must be to have you!

If someone had told 15 year old Light that she was going to be an engineer she’d have laughed worse than Sarah did. She definitely thought it was for the smartest people with above 85% average and that obviously wasn’t her. Let’s not even think about asking 5 or 10 year old Light.

At the point of writing Jamb and getting the results Engineering was not an option at all.

How did we get here?
The Music/Audio - the answer. Cause I can’t say I led myself down this path.

My journey in one word - SERENDIPITY.

I’m grateful I did Engineering and not Computer Science that I had registered for. The fulfillment, the joy, the late nights, the tearsssssssssss, because at some point in every level in school I questioned my life’s decision to go down this path especially with the multiple things I had going.

Grateful that God helped me push through, grateful that I get to wear Hard Hats and Coveralls, looking like a mechanic, grateful that I get to carry calculators everywhere and people ask if I have exams because who carries calculators??? Grateful that I got to carry big bags to class and work because my laptop, lab coat, calculator, big note pads and everything in between😂. Grateful that I get to keep reading because the world keeps evolving and we need to provide innovative solutions. What a privilege! What a journey! To say that I’m proud of myself sometimes sounds wrong to me cause I feel like I’ve not done much on some days. But boyyyy, I know I have!

Happy Fathers Day to my man!

Nobody practices or learns to be a father before becoming one. Many learn from the examples ahead of them which in many instances aren’t good examples. Everyone is learning on the job.

However, The ultimate example of fatherhood is God.

And in trying to mirror God in fathering us, you’ve done so well, there’s no perfect Dad anywhere in the world. But you’re enough for us, God knew what we needed for the purpose to which he brought 6 of us and the COA family to this world, that’s why he placed us under your care.

Thank you for all that you are!

Praise is that one person that if he believes in something, you must have your facts right to convince him and if he decides that he wants something, he always makes sure he gets it.

His perseverance, even though sometimes it can make you question your existence😂, (I think it is a very good quality he has). I’m proud of the man you’re growing into, my Praise.
