In the early hours of the morning, I encountered a group of Theravada monks, known as ‘bhikkhus,’ walking barefoot through Bangkok. Clad in their iconic orange robes, they collect alms from the community, a practice that highlights their commitment to spiritual discipline and fosters a unique bond with the people.

I had the chance to capture these moments at 6 AM while strolling through Khao San Road. Witnessing their calm presence and dedication was a truly beautiful experience.

Around 6 months ago in Bali, I directed and shot this documentary interview as part of a two-day project centered around birth, motherhood, healing, and women’s autonomy.

These frames are from Day 2, featuring @iburobin , a globally recognized midwife, humanitarian, author, and founder of the Bumi Sehat foundation alongside @staraugustali , a midwife, birth justice advocate, founder of the Black Midwifery Collective, and a featured figure in a Guardian award-winning documentary centered around maternal care and advocacy.

Together, they spoke about maternal health, birth trauma, intuition, women’s autonomy, and the importance of honoring the women who guide life into the world.

Projects like this are also a reminder to me that storytelling can go beyond aesthetics and that some of the most meaningful work to document is the kind rooted in people, care, and real human experiences.

Wandering around Ubud, taking random shortcuts just to see where they’d lead.
-From far away, I spotted a lone farmer quietly working in his rice field.
-First thing that caught my eye was his house.. raw, simple, but perfectly surrounded by green.
-I got closer, said hi, made small talk… and somehow ended up learning the job with his own tools.
-Pulled up to say hi… left with a new job.
