DON‘T LOOK BACK

We are beyond excited to launch our new t-shirt edition — DON’T LOOK BACK by artist Robert Elfgen.

Robert is acclaimed for a mytho-poetic artistic universe that revolves around the relationship between human beings and the world. His work extends our limits of perception in a unique, natural, archetypical, and refined manner. His view is genuine, full of strong and simultaneously sensitive suggestions.

In August this year, we visited Robert and his partner Brunhilde Bordeaux-Groult in Britanny, Northern France where they are both currently living and working.

Surrounded by nothing but nature, we joined him in his studio — printing 100 t-shirts, each by hand, one by one.

Witnessing Robert’s sensitivity for detail and craftsmanship, every shirt was wood printed by hand with utmost care.

There is no shirt like the other. Every t-shirt is a unique, wearable artwork. Of course, they are similar — but all have different shapes, color densities, and characters. The edition is strictly limited to 2 x 50 pieces.

100 percent of all proceeds realized are donated ‚Petners Berlin‘ (@petners.berlin) — an NGO delivering food and medicine to shelters for orphaned pets in Ukrainian war zones.

Celebrating the 55th official Earth Day, we would like to reinstate our commitment to reductionism as non-negotiable.
Our premise: the world needs more less!  We actively try minimizing our environmental impact taking the following measures:
— Utilizing 100% organic materials and natural colors
— Keeping down plastic, chemical, and waste use
— Making limited editions only to avoid leftover stock
— Printing most of our t-shirts by hand
 To ensure what we add to this planet can be worn responsibly, all our products comply the following certificates:
— GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)
— Oeko-Tex (customer confidence, high product safety)
— PeTA Approved Vegan (vegan materials, no animal testing)
— FairWear (fair working conditions)
 Looking for new possibilities of improvement, we currently research ways of further optimizing emissions from shipping and energy usage.

INTERVIEW WITH NILS EMMERICHS

#LightstoneStories is a format engaging with inspiring individuals on their work and unique perspectives.

After studying art history and philosophy, Nils Emmerichs (@________nils) just earned his PhD — publishing a dissertation about the influence of visual art on GDR (German Democratic Republic) writer Heiner Müller’s work in late 2024.

Before his doctorate, he already worked for various cultural institutions and art galleries — realizing projects with artists such as Michel Majerus, Olaf Nicolai, and Andreas Schulze.

Appreciating his knowledge in history, art, and sociological developments, we are excited to publish a recent conversation with Nils — exploring the social power of art, phenomena of contemporary media, and finally, the question of optimism in today’s world.

Coming on Tuesday — April 1, 2025.

Dear friends,
 We are very excited announcing the donation made from the sales of our DON’T LOOK BACK EDITION by artist Robert Elfgen (@robertelfgen).

The edition officially launched on December 1, 2024 following an exclusive pre-launch event on November 30.

Thanks to the outstanding support of so many of you, we were able to raise a total of €5,000.

This is an incredible milestone, marking the biggest donation realized since the start of our initiative!

100% of this sum are donated to Petners Berlin (@petners.berlin) — an NGO providing food and medicine for orphaned pets in Ukrainian war zones.

Together with the team of Petners, we are currently coordinating everything for a most efficient aid distribution.

More information and images will be shared as soon as available.

From our previous experience, this can take a while as not all steps of the aid distribution are under our control — especially delivery times.

Our thanks go once again to all of you for making this possible!

Our special thanks go to the wonderful individuals and amazing businesses supporting the launch of this edition and our website.

Ahead of our DON’T LOOK BACK edition launch in December 2024, Stéphanie curated a remarkable group show in Paris. Located inside the apartment of Brunhilde Bordeaux-Groult and Robert Elfgen, the exhibition naturally featured their works — among 13 other artists such as Max Ernst and Rosemarie Trockel.

Ahead of our DON’T LOOK BACK edition launch in December 2024, art historian and interior designer Stéphanie Ruth (@stephanieritaruth) curated a remarkable group show in Paris. Located inside the apartment of Brunhilde Bordeaux-Groult and Robert Elfgen (@robertelfgen), the exhibition naturally featured their works — among 13 other artists such as Max Ernst and Rosemarie Trockel.

Getting to talk to Stéphanie was a special chance — not only for understanding her curatorial approach “creating art experiences that engage the senses and challenge conventional ways of viewing“ but also for gaining private insights into the inward-facing narratives and implications of Robert’s artistry in particular.
